Palladium is appointed by USAID to manage USAID-funded Health technical Assistance Project (BANTU), to support USAID Indonesia's Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) by rapidly leveraging specialized short and long-term technical assistance to USAID, USAID-funded programs; the Government of Indonesia (GOI), and other organizations and agencies as required.

We are currently seeking a short-term Senior Maternal and Newborn Health Advisor to support the coordination of USAID/Indonesia MCH programs with the Ministry of Health.

JOB SUMMARY:

The USAID/Indonesia Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program is looking for a short-term Senior Maternal and Newborn Health Advisor to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health (MOH) in analysis and interpretation of result of the various USAID MCH programs over the years and to assist USAID to continue to create effective programming that is responsive to the current national situation and needs. The individual will identify new opportunities for the connections between USAID/Indonesia Health Office and MOH and facilitate communication between USAID/Indonesia Health Office and MOH. S/he will assist the MOH with identifying links between MCH programs around the country, both nationally and outside donors funded, and provide technical, analytical, and programmatic input to assist MCH programming to MOH and USAID. The individual will be a technical advisor to USAID to ensure MOH needs are met in MCH programming and provide any other technical or analytical input as required for the USAID MCH portfolio.

This short-term part-time contract position is for a six (6) month period and to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The position will report directly to the USAID Office of Health MCH Team Lead for daily oversight and performance review.

REQUIREMENTS: Medical Doctor with Master's degree required in Public Health, International Development, or other related discipline with applicability to health; minimum 7 years of experience in maternal and child health programming in Indonesia; excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; excellent presentation and communication skills (oral and written) including the ability to communicate and translate complex technical and policy issues clearly and effectively to different stakeholders in order to build consensus; excellent skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability to conduct domestic travel (if allowable based on COVID-19 situation).
