Position title: Communications Lead
Purpose: To develop and implement the communications strategy for the William & Lily Foundation in line with its values and strategic objectives
About the William & Lily Foundation (WLF):
WLF is an Indonesian-based philanthropic foundation established in 2009 as an outgrow of the philanthropic legacy of William and Lily Soeryadjaya. As an active grant-making foundation, WLF works closely with implementation partners on three focus areas: education, healthcare and economic empowerment. WLF is committed to impactful and responsible interventions in its efforts to empower underprivileged communities across Indonesia. Although the scope of WLF philanthropic endeavors is countrywide, its current geographical focus centers on eastern Indonesia.
Location: The Communications Lead will be based in the Foundation office in Jakarta. However, she/he will likely be required to travel occasionally to project locations (3-4 times per year), which may be as far as eastern Indonesia.
Key responsibilities:
· Develop and design WLF's communications strategy in support of the Foundation's strategic objectives
· Implement the communications strategy independently with close coordination and support of WLF team
· Develop relevant communications materials (including but not limited to reports, newsletters, press releases etc.) to achieve the goals and objectives of the communications strategy
· Manage dissemination of communications materials through selected online platforms such as website and email
· Coordinate and manage vendors and consultants to support production and dissemination of communications materials as needed
· Develop and maintain a communications database for the Foundation
· Engage and maintain relationships with WLF's relevant strategic stakeholders
· Other tasks assigned
Candidate Profile & Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience:
· Bachelor's degree minimum in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields
· At least 5 years of demonstrated leadership in communication with experience developing and executing communication strategies in international or development/social sector organizations
· A demonstrated ability to build relationships in order to work effectively within a complex environment involving both external and internal stakeholders
· Advanced knowledge and experience in overseeing the production of communication materials, media relations, high-level events, infographics, videos, websites, webinars and other multimedia web content
Essential Skills:
· Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (verbally, reading and writing)
· Excellent skills in developing and presenting communication materials, including synthesizing information
· Outstanding team management skills and thorough enjoyment of leading and mentoring individuals
· Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver at a high quality consistently
· Demonstrated knowledge and skills on design and publication software
· At least basic knowledge on website development and management
Interpersonal Skills:
· Team player, high commitment to work and good interpersonal communication skills
· Passionate about improving Indonesia and excited about WLF's desire to help marginalized communities through education, healthcare and economic empowerment
