Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara, is the main partner of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Indonesia. YKAN mission is to protect lands and waters on which all life depends. YKAN provides innovative solutions for realizing harmony between nature and humans, through effective management, non-confrontational approaches, and building a network of partnerships with all stakeholders. We currently have several openings for:

 

PROJECT MANAGER

 

The Project Manager provides program management support in the overall management, operation, and coordination of USAID-funded activities, ensuring smooth implementation of the activities in accordance with the standards set out by donor and organization.  They helps to ensure a seamless program planning, monitoring and delivery, team management, quality control and evaluation, including providing solutions to problems.

 

This includes the following functions:

                     Develop project plan to ensure USAID-funded activities are in alignment with Indonesia Terrestrial Program (ITP) strategic direction.

                     Undertake seamless coordination with internal and external parties, including USAID and Chemonics to ensure effective delivery of USAID-funded activities.

                     Monitor project progress and conduct corrective actions, as necessary.

                     Build and maintain clear and effective communication with donor and partners.

                     Prepare project reports in coordination with ITP Program Director and Program Manager.

                     Together with ITP Program Director, perform risk management, issue resolution, and conflict management, and collaboratively solve complex problems.

                     Utilize project management methodologies and processes and ensure all organizational and divisional standards are met.

                     Oversee day-to-day administration and financial management of USAID-funded activities.

                     Work closely with ITP Finance Manager and Grant Specialist to ensure incurred expenses are in compliance with donor and organizational policy and procedures.

                     Develop and share lessons learned to ITP staff and other relevant stakeholders.

 

The Project Manager reports to the Terrestrial Program Manager and based in Jakarta.

 

Qualifications:

                     BA/BS degree and 7 years' experience in conservation practice or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

                     Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.  

                     Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.

                     Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies.                                       

                     Experience negotiating.

 

 

CONSERVATION PIPELINE MANAGER

 

The Conservation Pipeline Manager develops, coordinates and/or implements strategies to achieve the Conservancy's goals through interaction with governments, bilateral and multilateral agencies, and/or embassies.

 

This includes the following functions:

                     Identify and document conservation projects from across YKAN's program portfolio (e.g., forestry, agroforestry, agriculture, ag-tech and coastal wetlands) where there are prospects to engage green financing and impact investment.

                     Recommend larger opportunities that YKAN should prioritize or focus on.

                     Develop metrics and monitoring systems to assess conservation, climate and people impacts of the projects in a potentially bankable pipeline, working closely with other relevant YKAN and TNC staff and external experts as needed.

                     Collect, analyze, and present project data and information from different sources in order to assess conservation, climate and people impacts.

                     Establish and manage relationships with other NGOs, community groups, businesses, etc. in relation to identifying and developing the project pipeline.

                     Work closely with relevant YKAN staff, YKAN Program Directors, NatureVest, TNC Asia Pacific, etc.

                     Together with ITP Program Director and relevant senior manager, manage relationships with ADMCF, involved in the preparation and submission of project and financial reports, monitor project progress, etc.

                     Provide technical support for the implementation of conservation projects in the Indonesia Terrestrial Program, among others, Sustainable Land Bond, Nature Climate Solution, and Kalimantan Focal Place, as required.

 

The Conservation Pipeline Manager reports to the ITP Green Development Senior Manager and based in Jakarta.

 

Qualifications:

                     BA/BS degree and at least 5 years' experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.

                     Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads, and finances under deadlines

                     Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance

                     Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies

                     Proven written and verbal communication and presentation skills

                     Demonstrated relationship building skills

 

 

PROJECT SUPPORT COORDINATOR

 

The Project Support Coordinator provides support for management, financial and administration aspects of USAID-SEGAR funded activities.

 

This includes the following functions:

                     Support project management, project financial & project administration of SEGAR-funded activities, including scheduling/coordinating meetings/workshops, coordinating internal and external working groups, distributing notes from meetings, and supporting development of presentations and communications materials.

                     Support day-to-day administration, financial management, annual planning and overall coordination of the project, including:

(i) coordinating procurement of materials, supplies and services (travel, meeting, FCPA,  contract, filing documents, and others)

(ii) researching and selecting sources, controlling prices and quality

(iii) maintaining contact with suppliers for information affecting prices, availability and delivery

(iv) working closely with Grants Specialist on finance and administration issues and ensuring that award monitoring meets the standards of YKAN, USAID and government rules

(v) working closely with Finance Manager to review transactions, ensure appropriate match transfers are completed, monitor accounting reports and account balances.

 

The Project Support Coordinator reports to the USAID SEGAR Project Manager and based in Jakarta.

 

Qualifications:

                     Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' experience in related field (e.g., international development, agronomy, business administration, conservation biology) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

                     Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

                     Knowledge of climate change issues

                     Highly developed ability to synthesize and communicate information to businesses and other stakeholder groups.

                     Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Web browsers, etc.

                     Technical experience with contracting and accounting issues.

                     Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.

                     Experience assisting in the development of and management of program budgets.

                     Experience in developing, directing, and managing public funded projects.

 

 

REGIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

 

Regional Community Development Specialist is responsible for implementing and achieving SIGAP replication and scale up by overseeing and representing YKAN in engagements with relevant stakeholders.

 

This includes the following functions:

                     Develop and implement plans and strategies for community engagements in community-based natural resource management.

                     Technical assistance for QA / QC provided to CSOs working in SIGAP replication villages.

                     Coordinate cross-site learning events among the conservation communities and the capacity building program with local NGO partners and/or consultants in developing products produced by the community.

                     Supply an environmentally friendly regional planning team with information for location portfolios.

                     Develop and implement innovative scientific methods, analysis, tools, and frameworks to meaningfully engage communities and other stakeholders in the development of an environmentally friendly community economy.

                     Use various tools to obtain various levels of legal interest in land and implement various strategies to get public and private support for YKAN conservation priorities.

                     Develop YKAN strategic goals for jurisdictional and landscape conservation  conservation and protection.

                     Coordinate support in community initiatives to take part in forest conservation, climate change mitigation, livelihood development, etc.

                     Connect community institutions with government, village, sub-district and district levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.

                     Carry out support for implementation of community-based foreset management plans.

                     Organise and facilitating meetings and workshops at the community level.

                     Collect, document and analyze various types of data and information related to the development of environmentally friendly livelihoods.

                     Coordinate technical and logistical supports during fieldworks and fieldtrips, etc.

 

 

The Regional Community Development Specialist reports to the Community Senior Manager, and will be based in the project site in Tanjung Redep, Berau.

 

Qualifications:

                     BA/BS degree in natural resources management, economic, social, law or another related field of study and minimum 5 years of related work experience in conservation, development, community empowerment or other related experience.

                     Experience in managing multiple projects and timelines.

                     Experience negotiating complex agreements.

                     Experience developing partnerships (partners, community, government).

                     Supervisory experience.

                     Experience working with computers, including database management.
