IFES is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. IFES promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil societies, governance and transparency. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries.
Currently we are seeking a Program Manager to lead project implementation in IFES' Jakarta office.
Primary Responsibilities: The Program Manager will work under the direction of the Country Director to lead the development and implementation of IFES' activities to advance the advocacy work of anti-corruption civil society partners within ASEAN countries.
Scope of Work:
· Liaise closely with IFES' subaward partners in six countries to support IFES' ongoing technical assistance;
· Oversee the planning, administration and logistics for special events, conference, workshops or trainings;
· Manage day-to-day project activities in an efficient and effective manner;
· Provide political and program activity updates as well on a regular basis to Country Director and HQ Program Manager;
· Lead the preparation of briefing notes, status and analytical reports, draft research and policy papers, technical reports/studies on IFES' technical assistance topics;
· Direct staff in the timely completion of tasks, reports and other materials, and conduct final review of all project technical and narrative reports;
· Oversee financial oversight of projects in collaboration and partnership with Finance Team;
· Establish, maintain and develop relationship with peers, subordinates, donor and consultants at large for the purpose of business development and information dissemination;
· Alert management of programmatic concerns, challenges and difficulties;
· Work collaboratively with IFES technical experts and partners as needed;
· Oversee monitoring and evaluation exercises;
· Provide any other support as requested by Country Director and HQ Program Manager.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in political science, international relations or related field; Master's degree preferred;
· At least 8 years or comparable of experience working in an international environment, ideally in the field of democracy, governance or international program management, with a strong preference for legal/anti-corruption programming experience;
· Experience in team management and overseeing single or multiple projects strongly preferred;
· Strong analytical and reporting skills;
· A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment under deadlines;
· Ability to maintain collaborative working relationship with team members, other staff, and IFES' partners. Partnerships require a high degree of diplomacy and judgment, with ability to address conflicts or difficulties in a constructive manner. Represent IFES with external contacts at professional and government levels;
· Experience in monitoring and evaluation an asset.
· Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and oral;
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office programs, Excel, internet) required;
· A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment;
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions.
