Based in Seoul, The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic performance such a poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, with currently 40 member countries, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. In addition to partnering with member countries, GGGI also collaborates with multilateral institutions and private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

 

The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called "Green Growth" Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI's operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. Current Opportunity

 

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to work with us in the GGGI Indonesia Country Program's Communications Team. The Communications Team is part of the Green Growth Program Phase 3 (GGP3) in which GGGI provides various support functions to a range of government partners to enhance and deliver green growth through various communications activities. The Communications workstream is particularly responsible for the achievement of Output 3.3 with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (government agencies get support to communicate GHG emissions reduction agenda) and Output 4.1 with the Ministry of National Development Planning/BAPPENAS (improved LCDI knowledge and awareness from related stakeholders). The intern will work as part of the Communications Team on those two outputs and may also need to provide support for other projects/outcomes/outputs under GGP3.

 

The assignment will include the followings but not limited to:

 

  • Assist in the production of communication materials/outreach products.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating digital/online communication channels.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording the analytics of digital/online communication channels.
  • Assist in media relations and media engagement.
  • Assist in event support for workshops and other events/activities.
  • Provide operational support when needed.
  • Commit to work full-time (40 hours per week) from December 2021 to May 2022.

 

Eligibility

 

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application comply with one of the following requirements:

 

  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor's program, OR be enrolled in a Master's program, OR be a recent graduate (Bachelor's or Master's) within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the GGGI's work.
  • Possess an excellent command of English.

 

 

 

 

Qualification

 

1.       Educational background in the field of in communications, journalism, international relations, graphic design, or a related field.

2.       Proficiency in creative designs and communications material production through the use of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Canva, and others.

3.       Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and active usage of various social media.

4.       Experienced in setting-up virtual meetings (through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meets) and calendar management is an advantage.

5.       Passion and some experience writing for various media, digital publications.

6.       A keen interest and creativity in using innovative modern technologies to deliver messages.

7.       Self-motivated, detail-oriented individuals with good organizational skills.

8.       Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

9.       Strong oral and written English, as well as the essential fluency in Bahasa Indonesia.

 

Selection Process

  • GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work

Important information:

 

Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

 

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions. 

 

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

 

Travel: This position is based at GGGI Indonesia's Jakarta Office. However, during the pandemic, GGGI regulations will follow the government's guidelines, which may include some work from office (WFO) and some work from home (WFH). The intern will arrange and finance their own costs to support and ensure effective and timely work, including travel to the office and potential offline meetings if necessary.

 

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.

 

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

 

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their university for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

 

Working Hours: Interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

 

Learning Outcomes: Before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

 

Certificate: Provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
