Swisscontact (www.swisscontact.org), the Swiss foundation for technical cooperation is a private and independent operating foundation, promoting sustainable economic growth in developing countries. Swisscontact is implementing the Sustainable Tourism Education Development Project (STED) as part of the Indonesian Swiss Development Cooperation. The STED Project is the second pillar of the STDI Program financed by SECO and jointly led by SECO and the Ministry of Tourism. The STED Project acutes overall goal is to achieve a better qualified workforce with relevant skills in the tourism sector with a geographic focus on Lombok and, subsequently, utilizing spill-over effects through a cooperation with a network of training institutions in Indonesia. The rational for the STED Project is the need of a better qualified tourism workforce and the creation of job opportunities for graduates from tourism education institutions under the Ministry of Tourism.

For the STED Project Office in Lombok, Swisscontact is looking for an enthusiastic and independent professional in the following field of expertise:



Driver

Based in Lombok,  Nusa Tenggara Barat (Job Code: ADV.000063)



Job Brief

 

The Driver/OSA STED carries out transportation related tasks, assures the safe and secure operation of the STED project vehicles and the proper functioning of basic installations at the STED Project Office under the overall supervision of the Office Manager STED.



Task, Authority & Responsibility

 

Under the direct supervision of and in consultation with Office Manager STED the Driver/OSA will carry out the following duties:

  • Assure the immaculate condition of the STED project vehicles at all times by observing strict adherence to all maintenance, safety and security requirements.
  • Use of the STED project vehicles by applying best driving practices and assuring all legal aspects of driving are adhered to.
  • Regularly consulting with the supervising staff related to travel arrangements and other operational demands related to the use of STED project vehicles.
  • Carrying out of all transport related tasks, including all types of transfers, in a responsible and reliable manner.
  • Make all required entries and keep record of all relevant information related to the operation of the STED project vehicles as per regulations.
  • Report all malfunctioning and insufficiencies related to STED project vehicles to the Office Manager STED.
  • Deal responsibly in all crisis and emergency situations, including accidents, by applying all relevant steps, including providing first aid and technical assistance as well as reporting to super-visors and authorities.
  • Assist the Office Manager STED in all daily tasks related to assuring the functioning of the STED Project Office.
  • Assist the Office Manager STED in basic administrative functions, e.g. payment of bills, dissemination of letters or parcels, procurement of office materials, making of copies etc.
  • Conduct minor repair works in the STED Project Office and assists in assuring tidiness.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.



Employee Requirements

 

  • Minimum of three years work experience in similar position, preferably with donors and/or NGOs.
  • Must have SIM A or SIM B, preferably lives in Mataram.
  • In healthy condition to work.
  • Must be able to multi-task and take responsibilities independently and be able to work as a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrate high level of ethical behavior.
  • Must be able to read and write basic English as well understand and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to provide references from previous employer(s).
