Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center (DLCC) is a vocational training center based in Desa Les, Tejakula, North Bali.   This facility will provide education to primarily low income students in a variety of vocational and sustainable subjects (culinary skills, permaculture agriculture, Living Values Education and Cultural Preservation) as well as assist in job procurement.  There will be a training kitchen and restaurant on the grounds.


DIRECTOR OF ACADEMICS AND CURRICULUM

Responsibilities:

  1. To assist the Center Manager, Project Director and Operations Consultant with the SOP.
  2. The Director of Academics & Curriculum must be committed to improving teaching practices through collaboration with staff, community members, and students. You should be able to use new and existing resources to ensure student needs are met, and educational goals are achieved. You will authorize textbook acquisitions and, on occasion, be tasked with writing your own educational materials.
  3. To support teaching staff in delivering the highest quality learning experiences in order that all our students achieve their potential.
  4. To ensure that regular student attainment tracking checks are carried out, followed up, reported as appropriate and information used to eliminate ‘gaps’ in students’ progress.
  5. To work closely with the faculty team to ensure the effective management of students, placing emphasis on a positive system of care and support, social and personal development, integrating the principles of Living Values Education into all aspects of DLCC.
  6. To ensure that school policies and procedures are understood and implemented by staff and students, especially with regard to health & safety, risk assessments, equality of opportunity and social inclusion. To keep up-to-date with local and national developments within the subject and with wider professional policy changes
  7. To oversee arrangements for internship/work experience (coordinated by Head of HR).
  8. To Network and build professional relationships with members of the institution and the community.
  9. Supervising all faculty recruitment and vetting prospective teachers.
  10. To create and maintain a stimulating environment for teaching and learning
  11. To ensure that staff are following agreed upon curriculum policies and that appropriate syllabi, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment and teaching and learning strategies are in place
  12. To ensure that the Center’s specialist objectives are met, including integrating Living Values Education into all aspects of the Center.
  13. To ensure the welfare, performance management and training of staff
  14. To lead curriculum development within the team
  15. To monitor student attendance and behaviour in lessons and liaise with the teachers and families.
  16. To encourage the display and celebration of students’ work in the Center.
  17. To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others
  18. To ensure that staff development needs are identified and appropriate steps taken to meet them and to assess the progress of teachers’ work.
  19. To promote teamwork to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, motivation and working relations of staff
  20. Recruitment of students: creating marketing materials to appeal to students and their families, going into the field to check poverty levels and ensure the willingness of students to adhere to the Center’s policies (this will be done with consultants on Living Values Education)
  21. Finding chefs to teach voluntarily in the Center
  22. Coordinating the after school program of short courses in English, Business Skills, Tailoring and more.
  23. Instigating and maintaining student morale
  24. To complete an annual school self-evaluation report
  25. To ensure that school’s staff present themselves professionally at all times and that they realize what sort of role models they should be for students
  26. Closely evaluating results at the end of each semester and writing up progress reports.
  27. To be successful as a director of academics and curriculum, you should stay up-to-date with pedagogical theories and developments in education. An exceptional director should have superb people skills and be confident in engaging individuals from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. You should be energetic, passionate, and able to clearly communicate objectives.

Requirements:

  2. Master's degree in education administration or a related field.
  3. Teaching certification and previous teaching experience.
  4. Fluent oral and writing skills in Indonesian and English

Position Title: Timebound Staff TB HIV for Jakarta Barat and Jakarta Utara

Detailed Description of Tasks to be Performed:

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a five-year global project funded by PEPFAR and USAID, is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. The EpiC project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery (DSD) to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, care and treatment programming, and viral load suppression. EpiC is led by FHI 360 with core partners Right to Care, Palladium, Population Services International (PSI), and Gobee Group. The project also draws upon regional resource partners to provide TA, as well as global resource partners who bring unique capacities.

 

The EpiC team's approach to TA is guided by four mutually reinforcing principles: (1) a focus on speed, scale, standards, and sustainability; (2) customization according to local priorities, financing, epidemiology, and the differentiated needs of target populations; (3) adaptive management based on results; and (4) transition of TA and DSD to local and regional partners to enable them to receive direct awards. In addition, EpiC applies human-centered design thinking to resolve persistent challenges along the HIV service cascade.

 

EpiC is currently being used as a funding mechanism by which to direct financial, programmatic and technical resources to assist Indonesia's TB Recovery.  EpiC's TB Recovery program portfolio currently consists of (a) Intensify TB screening for all PLHIV and vulnerable key populations; (b) Test all persumptive TB cases among PLHIV; (c) Provide TB preventive treatment (TPT) to all aligible PLHIV; and (d) Optimize treatment for co-infected TB and HIV patients in HIV service setting. 

 

JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:

 

The National TB Program established a TB resilience plan in early 2021 to ameliorate the impacts of COVID-19 on the TB response and to "catch up" and achieve pre-COVID-19 programmatic targets. The interventions focus on enhanced program monitoring, intensified case finding, accelerated TPT, safety considerations for health care workers, and increased service accessibility, all of which will be accelerated over the 2021 programmatic period.

 

EpiC Indonesia will hire two persons of Data Recording and Reporting Personnel, HIV-TB Recovery that are seconded to the sub-national Government, with the goal of ensuring timely, accurate and complete data that strengthens the real-time monitoring and implementation of the HIV-TB response in EpiC-targeted geographic areas.

 

This position will provide support and assistance to the District Health Offices and to EpiC technical team on HIV-TB Recovery reporting and recording implementation.  She/he will coordinate with the FHI360 M&E/SI Unit and HIV-TB Recovery Team to provide critical data management support.  She/he will be responsible particularly for HIV-TB Recovery data and ensure all HIV-TB Recovery data are handled, record and report efficiently and on time.

 

One position will be based in West Jakarta, while another position will be based in North Jakarta. Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply. Essential Job Functions:

-       Support the design and implementation of research studies, including the sampling, recruitment, statistical analysis, and report writing.

The Learning and Adaptation Specialist will be responsible for managing the Activity learning, research, and adaptation functions. This position assists MERLC Advisor to ensure TBPS utilizes learning, knowledge and research results for ongoing adaptive management. This includes supporting the development and implementation of a series of research studies as part of the implementation of the MEL plan, research agenda and collective action processes amongst TBPS partners and key stakeholders with a particular focus on ensuring adequate dissemination and demonstrable use of the research findings, including publication in scientific conferences and peer-reviewed journals. The Learning and Adaptation Specialist will work in close collaboration with the TBPS Technical Team and Field Operation Team to implement these tasks, consistent with the USAID collaborative partnership, learning and adaptation (CLA) framework, and being flexible, innovative and iterative.

Essential Job Functions:

·       Support to the collective action agendas

Provide support to the development of collective action agendas by TBPS partners and key stakeholders. This includes providing facilitation and technical support as needed, and the ongoing review, adaptation and updating of the agendas to align with contextual changes and CLA framework by adopting Developmental Evaluation principles.

·       Implementation of the research agenda

Work with the TBPS team to implement the research activities outlined in the MEL plan, including:

-          Develop research designs for research topics in the MEL plan and coordinate development of the broader program research agenda

-          Identify and scope research and evaluation activities that are required from the collective action agendas by partners or relate to AIPTIS program assumptions;

-          Provide direction including commissioning relevant analytics, research, and learning and providing input to methods proposed and quality assurance and oversight to the implementation and findings, including of final products;

-          Support the use of remote research methods as necessary;

-          Ensure that research products delivered are consistent with both USAID and FHI 360 guidelines such as collaborative partnership, equality and inclusion; and

-          Ensure that any relevant findings feed into the TBPS strategies and that communications are accessible to a broad audience and contribute to the achievement of TBPS' objectives.

·       Learning, knowledge and adaptive management

Implementation of the learning and reflection activities in the program MEL plan, including:

-          Support for the synthesis and analysis of information from the MEL system and research activities in preparation for learning activities;

-          Contribute to facilitation and organization of regular reflection workshops to support program learning and adaptation;

-          Contribute to the facilitation of events that support the transfer of ideas and experiences beyond to TBPS partners and key stakeholders;

-          Provide strategic inputs to the Senior Management Team as to the implications for TBPS' strategic direction of research and learning findings;

-          Contribute to preparation and on-time delivery of research reports, quarterly and annual reports, and other TBPS deliverables;

-          Present to internal and external stakeholders about program learnings; and

-          Knowledge Management including management and coordination of knowledge management systems and activities.

-        Writes and edits technical documents or research reports.

-        Assists with publications in peer-reviewed journals, web pages, and presentations to key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

-       Master's degree or its International Equivalent in Public Health, Research, International Development, Medical Sciences, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences or other related discipline.

-       6+ years' experience working on large donor funded programs, and working in a diverse team;

-       Typically requires at least 3 years of experience on operational research or evaluation activities, and knowledge of a range of research methods, including community-based randomized trials, quasi-experimental studies and mixed-method research;

-       Prior working experiences on research proposal development, report writing, and publication in peer-reviewed journals;

-       Understanding of adaptive management principles and experience of applying these within programs;

-       Demonstrated technical knowledge of GESI and Health Policy issues in Indonesia;

-       Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with GOI, USAID and Private Sector;

-       Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, quantitative (STATA, SPSS, R), and qualitative analytical (NVivo, Dedoose) software and other technology required for digital or remote data collection.
