"Short-term Pool of Experts to prevent corruption in the forestry sector"
As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. One of the GIZ projects implemented in Indonesia is Corruption Prevention in the Forestry Sector (CPFS). On behalf of the Indonesian Government and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC), together with GIZ as implementing agency, set up a joint project that works at the national level and sub national level (2 provinces: Papua and West Papua and 4 regencies: Tambrauw, South Sorong, Jayapura and Merauke). With the project assignment from May 2022 until June 2024 that addresses three key intervention areas:
- Regulatory and integrity standards in the forest sector through analysis, legal expertise, research and advocacy.
- Strengthening the institutional capacity of the KPK, local governments and their administrative bodies.
- Improves the participation of local communities, NGOs, IPs and companies in state-led corruption prevention in the forest sector.
All these three fields of activity/outputs highlight the strong participation of the public sector, private sector as well as local communities in preventing corruption in the forest sector.
The contractor provides a pool of national short-term experts for consulting services for different fields of action described in the TOR to support the activities, which contribute to selected outputs and indicators of the project.
