We do that by designing disaster-resistant houses and schools; training homeowners, builders, engineers and government officials to build them; working with governments to develop and implement building standards; partnering with the private sector to improve building materials quality and create jobs; and facilitating access to incentive-based capital for reconstruction and retrofitting by partnering with financing institutions and government subsidy programs.

YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY 
Build Change is seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join its team in Indonesia. The Marketing and Communications Officer will represent Build Change and its interests in the country. The position will be expected to:

  1. Support the Partnerships Manager in developing and implementing the Build Change / Yayasan Bangunan Cemerlang Indonesia (YBCI) advocacy and communication strategy and plans.
  2. Develop, manage, and advance all of Build Change (YBCI) advocacy and promotion content including but not limited to audio visuals material, web, and social media sites.
  3. Design promotional and advocacy collateral materials for printing and distribution.
  4. Develop partnerships with public and private key stakeholders at local, national and international level, including government agencies, private sector, and  institutional donors. 
  5. Represent and promote Build Change (YBCI) at local and national forums including conferences, government, public or private partner events and meetings.
  6. Develop guidelines and speaking points for all staff as needed, as well as train staff where necessary in good communications practice.
  7. Ensure a clear and effective communications strategy exists within and across all Build Change departments.
  8. Produce a consistent flow of Build Change (YBCI) publications and ensure contributions from all Build Change (YBCI) teams.
  9. Prepare press releases, media statements and other similar communications materials to promote Build Change's advocacies in Indonesia.
  10. Manage promotion events for Build Change (YBCI) as required.

 

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

You are thoroughly committed to Build Change's mission and have proven leadership and relationship management experience. You are an exceptionally driven individual with proven strategic communication experience, advocacy and marketing skills, and a continued desire to grow and learn. You should be familiar with housing issues, policy for development, and can understand and articulate fundamental concepts of disaster risk management.

 

Your experiences include:

        Bachelor degree or an advanced university degree in Communication, Marketing, or Education Communication, or related discipline, with at least 5 years of professional experience. First level university degree and qualifying experience of over 7 years is also acceptable.

        Excellence in advocacy, marketing, public relations, and/or fundraising, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures in the country.

        Effectively leading and executing result-and-impact-based communication strategy, operating in-person and online campaign, and managing the data gathering and analysis for campaign result monitoring and evaluation.

        Experience in policy and financing for development as well as advocacy for awareness for risk reduction.

 

You are able to:

        Communicate clearly, persuasively and passionately, in both written and verbal forms of Bahasa Indonesia and English, with excellent interpersonal skills.

        While working remotely, be based in the Greater Jakarta area and able to travel within the country as needed during the contract duration.

        Work effectively and cohesively  in collaboration with diverse groups of people.

        Ensure coherence and consistency in spite of urgent deadlines.

 

You would describe yourself as:

        Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
