Overall Purpose
The East Java Salt Extender will work under the overall guidance of National Program Officer, Indonesia to support implementation of USI-IDD Program in Surabaya City, Kediri District, Pasuruan District, Pasuruan City Sidoarjo City, Lumajang District East Java Province. The East Java Salt Extender will be responsible for providing technical and operational assistance to the NPO in implementing Nutrition International (NI's) USI-IDD program which includes:
1. Develop, facilitate and maintain the established:
· Internal quality control (QC) system of 22 small and medium and 3 large Salt Iodization Processors (SIPs) in East Java through on-site assistance at the SIPs and QC refresher training;
· External quality control (QC) system carried out by concerned district officers i.e. Industry and trade office, BPOM (FDA) and the Industry research and development agencies in East Java
2. Advocate and assist the provincial and district governments in East Java to maintain a sustained USI Program including advocacy to incorporate appropriate USI program elements into local government budgets.
3. Provide advocacy, facilitation and assistance for BAPPEDA (Development Planning Agency) of province and district in planning, managing, implementing and reviewing USI Program and activities.
4. Support for effective USI monitoring and law enforcement in East Java
Qualification and Experience
o Minimum bachelor's degree in food technology/ Public Health & Nutrition/Chemistry/ Mechanical/Development sciences or other related field.
o Minimum 3 years of experience in managing health and nutrition projects in the states.
o Experience in working with Provincial and District governments and implementing projects through partner NGOs on Universal Salt Iodization will be preferred.
o Computer skills, analytical and excellent writing skills are required.
o Fluency in English will be considered an added advantage
