Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) officer for Waste Management Project in Semarang

BINTARI is a national non-governmental organization engaged in environmental protection and sustainable development. Established in 1986, BINTARI strives to be an outstanding partner for transformation toward resilient and sustainable societies by collaborating with various development actors, including the government, community, private sector, and international organizations. The society transformation is achieved through waste & circularity, climate change, and disaster management programs.

BINTARI as a Clean City Blue Ocean (CCBO) grantee currently implement building local capacity for communities to manage solid waste aggregation facilities and enhance reduce, reuse, recycle (3R) markets in Semarang Project. To support this project implementation, BINTARI requires a dynamic, and talented Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to be placed in Semarang City.

The MEL staff will be responsible for this project activities in coordination with BINTARI project manager and CCBO MEL coordinator.

Expected Qualification

1.    Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.

2.     Ability to work effectively with various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.), advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages are required to visualize and analyze data.

3.     Ability of statistic knowledge is advantage.

4.     Previous experience with statistical analysis, data collection analysis is advantage.

5.     Experience in waste management knowledge and project is preferred

6.     Previous experience with international development cooperation MEL and reporting procedures is preferred.

Skills and Experience

1.     Degree in Environment, Development, Social Science and Statistic or has experience in related areas;

2.     Strong interpersonal, oral and written and communication skills in English.

3.     Persistent and creative to collect data from stakeholders and beneficiaries

4.     Working experience in report writing, monitoring and evaluation, including data analysis and data collection;

Duties and Responsibilities

1.     Coordinate and develop monitoring framework with CCBO

2.     Monitoring and evaluation of project achievement based on monitoring framework and indicator

3.     Reporting progress achievement of a project to CCBO after agreed by a project team

4.     Coordinate with a team project to inform progress achievement of the project and propose a suggestion for implementation improvement based on monitoring framework and indicator

5.     Contribute to narrative report on a part of project achievement based on monitoring framework and indicator
