The TVET System Reform (TSR) project is a joint effort between the Governments of Indonesia and Germany that aims to support the implementation of key elements of the Government of Indonesia's reform agenda in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This area of cooperation is being carried out by the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, with the full support of the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).
The TSR project works at both the national and sub-national levels and has two main areas of activity:
- TVET policy and coordination, to better align and regulate the roles and initiatives of stakeholders, both private and government in the TVET system
- Cooperation with the private sector to increase their involvement in TVET development.
To develop a TVET system that can meet future labor market demands, one way is to improve the quality and flexibility of teaching and learning in TVET institutions. One of the developments in the field of education in Indonesia is the digitization of teaching and training materials and the use of technology-based learning media and models. TVET System Reform 2.0 Project is therefore recruiting one Indonesian candidate for:
Trainee
A. Responsibilities
Supporting the TSR 2.0 Project in implementing its activities related to both Field of Activities as well as general tasks of project management.
Trainee involved in this project will be given specific assignments so he/she can learn and gain work experience related to the TSR project works at both the national and sub-national levels and has two main areas of activities. TSR project will support this development through a mentoring concept where the Senior Advisor TVET System Reform will mentor trainee during their tenure at TSR through a close cooperation and interaction with his/her mentors.
B. Tasks
The aim of a traineeship with the TSR 2.0 Project is to give the trainee an insight into the inner workings of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and its project implementation.
The trainee will experience and be involved while assisting specific tasks such as preparing and conducting coaching clinics and trainings including relevant activities such as development of short movies. Soft skills required in that positions include enhanced ability for teamwork, flexibility, organization, initiative, and very good communication skills.
The tasks of the trainee encompass:
· Working closely with and assisting the advisors of TSR 2.0 in the following area:Support for organization of various Online, Offline and Hybrid Events/ Meeting/ FGD and Socialization of TSR 2.0 activities (e.g. Cost and Benefit Analysis, Super Tax Deduction, In-Company Master Trainer Training and various Kadin Indonesia – Kadinda Capacity Development):
· Assist in preparing the Terms of Reference of the event· Assist in contacting the potential venues
· Assist in preparing RFE
· Assist in looking for various necessary service providers, among other interpreters, video conference streaming, printing companies
· Providing support during the Socialization (technical support during offline event)
· Preparing the supporting document for invoice verification (invoice, list of participants)
Support for Implementation of Studies of TSR 2.0 (e.g. Cost and Benefit analysis, Impact of Utilization of VR training Materials in TVET):
· Assist in collecting data· Assist in data processing
Support for Monitoring and Evaluation:
· Data collection for indicator at module level, i.e., women proportion in IT, engineering and renewable energy.· Supporting on collecting and compiling cost sharing data
Support for Communication:
· Media monitoring on issues related to TVET, FoA 1 and 2
General:
· Attending the discussion and meetings· Taking meeting minutes (notes, protocols) to be reviewed by concerned advisor.
· Learn how to provide update report to the Advisor and Senior Advisor and to provide summary of each activity
· Learn how to provide activity reports (and financial report if needed) for administrative purposes in TSR
- Required qualifications, competencies and experience
· Student in a bachelor degree program in management, communication, business administration, or other relevant field; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Skill and knowledge
· Interest and sufficient knowledge in management and communication
· Excellent command in both spoken and written English
· Good communication, organization and writing skills
· Ability to work and adapt in a team
· Excellent command of MS – Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
· Experience in literature research and expert interviews
