Program Lead – Agri for Stunting

Edufarmers Foundation was initially founded in 2015 and currently working on enhancing agricultural productivity for smallholder farmers in Indonesia while developing youth to become future talent in agriculture industry. Since our establishment, we have helped more than 1,370 youths and 6,295 beneficiaries.
Our flagship program, Bertani Untuk Negeri, was first piloted in September 2020 and had scaled up to reach 250+ poultry, maize, and horticulture farmers and 140+ youths per batch of implementation. In the program, we mobilize, train, and develop youths as Farmers Development Associates (FDAs) to be an agent of change for smallholder farmers. We encourage a transfer of knowledge and technology, supported by financing access through FDAs so that farmers are going to be able to adopt better farming practices, thus improving their agricultural productivity and income.
Building up on our expertise in agriculture, we are seeking to expand our impact to reduce the prevalence of stunting by providing better access to nutritious food for malnourished mother and child. We aim to give agri-nutrition intervention for the beneficiaries so they can improve their income and able to use the extra income to provide better food for pregnant mother and children.
This year, we have started our work in Kab. Maluku Tenggara, Maluku and Kab. Puncak Jaya, Papua and we aim to expand our reach to more locations. We are looking for a Program Lead to join our team and lead the process to end poverty in Indonesia.
As a Program Lead, you will be expected to design, launch, and manage a program to reduce prevalence of stunting through agri-nutrition intervention. The details of the job will include, but might not be limited to the following:
• Lead interviews or meetings with external stakeholders (farmers, partners, experts, stakeholders, governments, etc.) independently;
• Synthesize findings to design overall program concept (e.g. project location, high-level solution, theory of change, monitoring and evaluation mechanism, etc.);
• Map out needed resources to deliver the program, hire team members, and work together with other functions or external stakeholders to fulfill needed resources;
• Manage the progress of the project and team members to ensure impacts are delivered to beneficiaries;
• Develop material and evaluation instrument as necessary for program delivery;
• Capture learning from program implementation for improvement in the future.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Track record in successfully leading a project from design phase to implementation phase;
• Have a good understanding of stunting issues, its underlying causes, and nutrition requirement for mother and child;
• Have a good general understanding of how agriculture industry (especially crops and poultry) works;
• Empathy with people the most in need and willingness to give one's best to improve impoverished people's livelihood;
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, have an ability to make a cohesive connection and solution out of available scattered information;
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to cope with sudden change in requirement;
• Love working on challenges and solving them together with the team;
• Ability to work independently and resourceful with minimal supervision;
• Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills (English and Indonesian);
• Ability to travel to program site as necessary;
• Ability to perform data analysis using Ms. Excel;
• Ability to create compelling presentation using Ms. PowerPoint.
