Knowledge Associate – Poultry
Edufarmers Foundation was initially founded in 2015 and currently working on enhancing agricultural productivity for smallholder farmers in Indonesia while developing youth to become future talent in agriculture industry. Since our establishment, we have helped more than 1,370 youths and 6,295 beneficiaries.
Our flagship program, Bertani Untuk Negeri, was first piloted in September 2020 and had scaled up to reach 250+ poultry, maize, and horticulture farmers and 140+ youths per batch of implementation. In the program, we mobilize, train, and develop youths as Farmers Development Associates (FDAs) to be an agent of change for smallholder farmers. We encourage a transfer of knowledge and technology, supported by financing access through FDAs so that farmers are going to be able to adopt better farming practices, thus improving their agricultural productivity and income.
In the coming years, we have ambition to be able to develop expertise in all agriculture sectors, thus becoming the agriculture center of excellence in Indonesia. To achieve the vision, we are currently looking for a Knowledge Associate – Poultry to join our exciting journey to solve one of the toughest challenges: agricultural productivity.
Basic Information and Responsibilities

Reporting to : Head of Product
As a Knowledge Associate, you will mainly work on developing and enhancing the back-end of Bertani Untuk Negeri program, especially for its practical knowledge and agri-technology pool. The details of the job will include, but might not be limited to the following:
• Develop best-practice technical poultry farming guideline (broiler, layer, village chickens);
• Design experiment and perform research on experiment farm to further enhance technical farming guideline;
• Work in collaboration with Program Managers and Field Managers to synthesize knowledge acquired from program implementation;
• Create academic reports, articles, videos, or other types of output for the purpose of knowledge dissemination;
• Act as an internal poultry farming consultant for project needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Researcher / Analyst / similar role;
• Have a background of Animal Science, especially on poultry;
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, have an ability to make a structure out of available information;
• Have a strong orientation to detail (as if an artisan) to deliver best work results;
• Strong formal written and spoken communication skills in English;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Ability to travel to program site as necessary;
• Ability to use Ms. Excel and Ms. PowerPoint;
• Ability to create a quantitative data model and visualization.
