Position Title: Consultant for Standard Operation Procedure Study – 4 positions

FHI 360 is the prime implementer of USAID's Tuberculosis Private Sector Activity which aims to contribute to national goals to reduce tuberculosis (TB) incidence and mortality by increasing the number of private provider clients who are correctly diagnosed, notified and receive quality TB services. The project is seeking Individual Consultants to work under direct supervision of TBPS Research Team and close collaboration with MERLC team in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Consultants will assist TBPS Research Team to implement review of implementation in accessing Xpert testing and antituberculosis programmatic drugs with prime focus on data collecting, cleaning, and analysis in six TBPS districts: Medan, Denpasar, Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Selatan, Gresik, and Samarinda.

Scope of Work:

Provide support in qualitative data collection and analysis for review of implementation in accessing Xpert testing and antituberculosis programmatic drugs in Medan, Denpasar, Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Selatan, Gresik, and Samarinda, including:

1.     Perform In-Depth Interviews to the private health providers, Puskesmas, Xpert laboratories, District Health Office (DHO), and the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP)

2.     Transcribe the interviews

3.     Perform qualitative data analysis according to the developed matrices as provided by the research team

Consultancy Location and Travel:

Consultancy is based in Jakarta . The consultants might require traveling to Medan, Denpasar, Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Selatan, Gresik, and Samarinda to meet with relevant respondents (private health providers, Puskesmas, Xpert laboratories, District Health Office (DHO), and the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP). Given the current COVID-19 epidemic, it is likely that some encounters will be converted to virtual format to allow physical distancing. The expense of travel/accommodation will be covered to each activity and adjusted according to FHI360 standards.

Qualifications:

-       Bachelor's degree or its International Equivalent in Public Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences or related field.

-       At least 2 years of experience in conducting in-depth interview with community members and government, interview transcribing, and qualitative analyses. Having experiences in report writing is preferred.

-       Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheets. Skills in qualitative analytical (NVivo, Dedoose) software and other technology required for digital or remote data collection considered as a plus.

-       Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.

-       Basic ability to read, write and speak English, fluent in host country language.

-       Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently. 

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

-       Knowledge of theories, concepts, and practices with research utilization, methodology, implementation, analysis, and reporting.

-       Knowledge of Tuberculosis (TB) Disease is considered as a plus.

-       Excellent oral and written communication skills.

-       Excellent qualitative skills.

-       Excellent and demonstrated research and evaluation project management skills.

-       Ability to influence and collaborate with others.

-       Ability to resolve issues with new concepts and approaches to ensure research objectives are met.
