Project Overview and Role:
About PERINTIS – PERINTIS is a project implemented under the DFAT-funded Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT).

The purpose of PERINTIS is to support Palembang’s sanitation program through a social marketing campaign and training. The focus is on helping community members make informed decisions about sanitation and assisting local government and contractors to deliver effective sanitation services.

Phase 2 of the program is expected to begin in October 2022.

Based in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be a permanent, full-time role responsible for managing a team to deliver the PERINTIS Marketing and Communications Strategy and the PERINTS Inclusive Socialisation Campaign to increase city-wide sanitation in Palembang. The Marketing and Communications Manager will report to directly to the Deputy Team Leader and receive support from Project Manager in Adelaide.

 

Duties:

  • Provide leadership and support to the Team Leader (TL), Deputy Team Leader (DTL) and PERINTIS team members in the development of marketing and communications strategies/social marketing campaigns for the PERINTIS program.
  • Develop the PERINTIS Marketing & Communications Strategy and the PERINTIS Inclusive Socialisation Campaign Framework and ensure all deliverables are met on time and are of a high quality.
  • Work collaboratively with the PERINTIS Team to provide promotional material and “good news stories” to the client, the mayor’s office, relevant Dinas and associated training organisations such as LPMK and BLK, community members and NGOs, CSOs and the private sector.
  • Work closely with community-level organisations to ensure that their stories and accomplishments regarding their involvement with PERINTIS training programs are highlighted and promoted to targeted audience.
    Manage the process of converting all the training materials into Training Manuals/Modules for government handover.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • An Indonesian National with minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the social marketing, public relations and or event management fields for the private sector, government and or CBOs/CSOs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing social marketing campaigns and media strategies for specific issues such as inclusive sanitation, promotion of women, people with disability and other vulnerable groups, training and employment and inclusiveness.
  • A strong track record of working with local media outlets and promotion firms in Palembang.
    Awareness of DFAT and KIAT Communications Strategies and rules.
    A first degree or higher in relevant fields of either public relations, journalism, development studies, or communication studies.
