Project Overview and Role: About PERINTIS – PERINTIS is a project implemented under the DFAT-funded Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT).

The purpose of PERINTIS is to support Palembang’s sanitation program through a social marketing campaign and training. The focus is on helping community members make informed decisions about sanitation and assisting local government and contractors to deliver effective sanitation services.

Based in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia, the Technical Training Coordinator will be a permanent, full-time role responsible for assisting to deliver the PERINTIS Training Plan to provide high quality training related to the sanitation sector, to technical service providers. The Technical Training Coordinator will report directly to the Training Manager and will receive support from the Team Leader in Australia and Deputy Team Leader in Palembang.

Duties:

  • Provide support to the Training Manager and PERINTIS team members in the coordination of the training program across a range of training providers delivering technical training at external locations such as Al Qodri Academy and Darrusalam Training Centre.
  • In conjunction with the Training Manager, manage the Community Liaison Officers and Employment Engagement Officers to achieve effective trainee recruitment and employment pathways within the technical aspect of sanitation service delivery after training.
  • Together with the Training Manager, ensure that the Training Plan and budget are regularly updated.
  • Assist to procure training services that are relevant, cost effective and within budget for PERINTIS trainees and ensure COVID-19 safe practices dictate the type of training delivery provided.
  • In conjunction with the Training Manager be responsible for developing Terms of Reference (ToRs), Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) and contracts for each external training provider recruited by PERINTIS.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with key government departments including, Departments of Public Works, Health, PDAM, Environment, and others in Palembang relevant to the achievement of PERINTIS’ technical training program.
  • Work closely with technical training providers to ensure the training is of high quality and is relevant to the employment market.

Skills and Experience:

  • An Indonesian National with minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the training or education sector, with a link to the engineering, construction, sanitation sector and advantage.
  • A track record of working and engaging with technical sanitation and infrastructure service providers like DPUPR/PDAM.
  • Experience working with international donor organisations such as DFAT will be highly regarded.
  • A first degree or higher in relevant fields related to training and education provision, particularly with an engineering, construction or sanitation background.
