About the organization:
Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia (YRII) is an independent humanitarian and development organization. YRII, previously Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia as globally with Islamic Relief Worldwide we have been fighting poverty and injustice for 30 years, in a world where more than three billion people still live in poverty
Country Purpose:
Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia has been operating since 2003, and officially became the Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia in January 2022. The objective of the Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia program is to contribute to the social welfare of the Indonesian people and to alleviate suffering. The main sector for the programme include:
• Water and Sanitation
• Sustainable livelihood
• Education
• Child Welfare
• Shelter
• Disaster Risk Reduction
• Climate Change
The geographical area: NTB, Aceh, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Jakarta Province and will be expanded to all regions of Indonesia according to the development of the organization. The implementation of the program is carried out directly by YRII or through cooperation partners.
Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia is seeking Media and Communication Officer based in Lombok - Indonesia.
Reporting Line:
Post holder would directly report to Area Coordinator.
Overall Responsibility:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Area Coordinator, the Media and Communication will coordinate and deliver resources and processes in support of the media and communication component to Islamic Relief programme. Communication and media officer write and distribute content to promote an organization's brand, activities and program and products capturing Islamic Relief's vision, mission and activities in Indonesia with a major focus on Impact, Innovation and added-value of Islamic Faith-Based Organization in Indonesia.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop a network in regional media contacts.
· Strengthen distribution of media to ensure coverage of project activities including advocacy and campaign efforts.
· Develop creative and engaging content including infographics, short videos, photos and other materials to support campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and other activities.
· Assist the area coordinator in preparing the presentation for the donor regarding the project's progress.
· Undertake other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the management.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
Skills:
· Computer literate with fluency of using office application, design application (Adobe software), and social media.
· Excellent Writing skils, videography and photography skills.
· Proven experiences in cash and voucher assistance management is preferred.
· Able to write report in English with minimum revision/edit.
· Flexible, able to work independently and to deliver quality work on time.
· Knowledge and practical understanding of and ability to work within both relief and development NGO contexts.
Requirements:
· Relevant education background in communication, design, journalism, social science, or other related fields.
· 1-2 years minimum experience in relevant field.
· Capacity to work under pressure.
Strong interest in development work with respect for confidentiality and commitment to YRII overall aims and objectives, including gender, equality and equal opportunities in all aspects of YRII's work.
