Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS), a Kalimantan-based foundation head-quartered in Palangka Raya, is striving to improve the quality of governance and well-being in areas affected by mineral development activities, and is working closely with communities, local government and extractive companies to achieve this objective.
Currently we are looking for an experienced consultant to provide consultancy and expertise in assisting YTS and the district government in developing RAD-PPM and district regulation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In close coordination with the Artisanal Small-scale Gold Miners (ASGM) Program Coordinator:
1. To conduct baseline study for formulation of the RAD-PPM, including identification of relevant priority sectors and targets for mercury reduction;
2. To provide assistance to the Sub-National government and YTS to develop the Draft RAD-PPM and Draft District Regulation, and present these to related government agencies and stakeholders:
- facilitate workshops to develop draft of RAD-PPM
- facilitate working Group Meetings
- facilitate public Consultation with related Stakeholders
3. To submit Final Draft of the Sub-National RAD-PPM and district regulation based on feedback from public consultation;
4. Participate in relevant activities as planned in the project work plan.
Experience and Requirements:
1. At least 5 years previous experience working experience on Environment, Development, Chemical Engineering, Geography and other related field of works;
2. Experience in writing policy documents and/or publications and academic papers with topics of interest related to environment, mercury and public policy
3. Good knowledge of the Minamata Convention and the Government of Indonesia's (GOI) efforts to implement the Convention
4. Good verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate well with a wide range of individuals and personalities
5. Fluent in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English (prefer)
6. Work experience in multicultural settings
7. Good computer skills – word processing, spreadsheet, internet
8. University degree in relevant subject
9. Able to travel and work in remote areas
