Yayasan Jalin Komunikasi Indonesia (Jalin Foundation), a local not-for-profit organization, commits to improving the quality of life of Indonesian people by empowering all levels of society through Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC).  Jalin Foundation uses SBC best practices to ensure that people have the information and motivation they need to make healthy choices for themselves, their families and communities.

 

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities. You will be the face of the organization, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision.  The position shall be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

General responsibilities include:  Developing and implementing strategies aiming to promote the organization's mission and "voice"; creating complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the board of directors; and, building an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Responsible to the Board of Management of the Jalin Foundation, and endeavor to form productive business units to support Jalin Foundation's funding sources, with the approval of the Chairperson of the Jalin Foundation's Management Board.

·       Responsible for all project implementation activities and management of the Foundation in accordance with the vision, mission and code of ethics of the basic values of the Jalin Foundation.

·       Provides leadership to the project team, technical, operational and management aspects of the project, including planning and implementation of the project; ensuring clarity over plans and priorities, encourages effective team-work, and develop remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary.

·       Carry out various initiatives and innovations in the development of the Jalin Foundation, in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the Jalin Foundation, including leading proactively activities for the sustainability of the Jalin Foundation.

·       Plan, organize, and supervise collaborative activities with external parties, including building and maintaining effective and strategic good relations with key stakeholders including the Board of Trustees of the Jalin Foundation, donors, government and other organizations.

·       Review reports by subordinate managers to acquire understanding of the organization's financial and non-financial position, and report the activities of the Jalin Foundation, both financial and non-financial reports that will be and or have been implemented, obstacles, constraints and plans to the Chairperson of the Jalin Foundation's Management Board in writing and on a timely basis, and establishes annual work plans, project teams, and SOPs to meet project goals and ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.

·       Act as the public speaker and public relations representative in ways that strengthen its profile and ensuring the name of the Jalin Foundation as an organization that has been well known by Donors, Government Institutions, and other organizations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Advanced degree (Masters, or PhD) preferably in public health, demography, communication and/or other related social science, with at least 15 years of professional experience and relevant experience with local and international development programs in Indonesia, particularly leading and designing health programs in country or in the region.

·       Demonstrated leadership and management skills to effectively and efficiently implement complex international health projects, and ability to work in a multi-cultural setting under tight deadlines; and, have excellent communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken in both English and Indonesia.

·       At least 2 years of professional experience in project management and leadership, including experience in managing projects and staff; and, has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and manage resources for successful completion of projects.

·       Has a good networking and experience in working with key stakeholders in Indonesia and past experience working with I/NGOs and donors is a plus and strongly desired.
