As of September 2022, the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Indonesia (OUCRU ID) operates in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia after having been known as the Eijkman Oxford Clinical Research Unit (EOCRU) since 2008. OUCRU ID is part of the Africa Asia Programme Vietnam, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust, and governed by the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. OUCRU in Indonesia and Vietnam, along with their many local and international partners, conduct biomedical, clinical, and epidemiological research on infections impacting the health of people living in Southeast Asia and beyond

In conducting their work in Indonesia, OUCRU ID is assisted by Alliance for Emerging and Re-emerging Disease Threats in Asia Foundation (ALERTAsia), a local foundation assisting in research grant management and capacity building for local researchers.

Scope of work:
Through ALERTAsia we are seeking a qualified and experienced Junior Researcher, based at OUCRU ID in Jakarta, to support an international research project, entitled INTERACT. INTERACT is an implementation research project that aims to demonstrate the proof-of-concept that a context-specific combination intervention focusing on implementing a test & treat clinical pathway for acute HIV infections can curb the growing HIV epidemic in key populations. To achieve this, the study will evaluate the effectiveness/yield, acceptability, feasibility of the intervention in selected sexual health clinics in Jakarta and Bali. The project will also develop a digital behavioural tool to reach out to the broader at risk population and enhance the impact of the intervention. This project is a partnership between OUCRU ID, Atma Jaya Catholic University, Globalindo and Bali Peduli clinics, Universitas Indonesia, Udayana University, Amsterdam University Medical Centers, Chelsea & Westminster Trust, and others.

Responsibilities:
The Junior Researcher will play an important role in providing research and field support to the conduct of the studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigators and will also work closely with the local and international partners. The Junior Researcher will help the study investigators to implement the study, monitor progress and quality of the data collection, and conduct data analysis, interpretation and scientific reporting of the data. Specifically, the main responsibilities are listed below:
- Work with local clinic partners to develop work plans to implement the study protocol, SOPs and identify research participants and collect the data in accordance with the protocol and high quality standards;
- Support developing and adapting data collection tools, standard operating procedures and other study materials;
- Support the collection of high-quality quantitative and qualitative data, conduct interviews and transcribe and translate data from interviews, perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and data interpretation;
- Assist the study team with dissemination of study results, including preparing presentations and writing publications;
- Assist or lead in further funding/grant applications for projects associated with the purpose of INTERACT's work.
- Use relevant software/programs to analyze and visualize qualitative data (for example NVivo) and quantitative data (for example STATA, R);
- Occasional travels to various sites may be required, as appropriate to the objectives of the study.
- Conduct and support site training activities as needed;
- Other study related tasks as required by the country PI.

Job Requirements
Essential:
- Master's degree (or higher) in medical, public health/epidemiology, nursing, and/or social sciences or related field.
- Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data collection for research studies.
- Experience working on health-related research studies.
- Experience or affinity with HIV and sexual health.
- Excellent spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Attention to details and being highly organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Motivated and enthusiastic with a strong passion for interdisciplinary and implementation research.
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, and yet be a team player.
- Willingness to travel, interact with, and work in a range of settings.
- Ability to work independently at home during COVID-19 outbreaks and using online applications for communication with supervisors and for work communication
- Computer literacy and proficiency.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g. Nvivo, STATA, R, SPSS).

Desired:
- Experience working in healthcare settings.
- Experience working with government and non-government stakeholders.

The selected candidate will initially receive a 12 months' contract and, if can show professionalism and work dedication, a possibility to receive a contract extension. and remuneration package that includes annual leave, sick leave, THR, optional private medical cover, BPJS Kesehatan, and not to mention fully paid income tax and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (JAMSOSTEK). The salary shall be competitive and dependent upon qualifications and salary history..
