Program Overview
- Information on related ocean account data particularly on blue carbon ecosystem (mangrove and seagrass) not limited to its extent and condition;
- Information on the main challenges confronting coastal ecosystems management and ocean account implementation at the provincial level;
- Provide input and proper approach for the implementation of ocean account in Riau Province not limited to blue carbon policy, governance, and social-economic sector;
- Engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including government, academics, NGOs, and local communities to inform and discuss policy and institutional issues to implement ocean account including Marine Protected Area (MPA) management and improved integration of RZWP3K.
- Proficient on blue carbon ecosystem, conservation management including MPA and RZWP3K, fisheries management, and blue economy
- Ability to work collaboratively to relevant stakeholders in Riau Province, including Bappeda, DKP, NGO, academics, local community, etc
- Strong interest and committed to ocean, environment, and national development issues
- Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high quality work products
- Proven excellent skill in writing and public speaking for both technical and general audiences.
- Ability to communicate clearly, as well as express ideas in structured manner, both verbally and in writing
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Legally able to work in Indonesia
- Willing to be worked from Riau
- Ability to travel when needed
Preferred qualifications:
- Ideal candidate preferably have a master's degree in coastal management with gained experience by working in collaboration with provincial government on blue carbon ecosystem, conservation management, fisheries management, and blue economy.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience working on marine and coastal development issues, blue carbon ecosystem, conservation management including MPA and RZWP3K, fisheries management, and blue economy particularly within the Riau Province.
