About the job 

Edu Farmers International Foundation is a non-profit organization with a vision to bolster the foundation of food security across four vital aspects, achieved through the implementation of two key programs. The first program concentrates on enhancing availability, productivity, and the quality of agricultural outputs, all while upholding the principles of sustainability in farming practices. These foundational pillars constitute our primary program, a holistic approach encompassing training, research, and ecosystem development within the agricultural sector. This multifaceted initiative aims to significantly amplify the productivity and income of smallholder farmers. 

Complementing this effort, our second major program places emphasis on access - ensuring the community's unfettered ability to obtain and procure food - and utilization, which centers around the community's adeptness in preparing and consuming nutritious meals. This program takes the form of a Stunting Prevention initiative, meticulously crafted to execute targeted interventions that elevate the standards of nutrition, education, and other agriculture-centered initiatives. Since our establishment, we have helped more than 797 youths, 2473 farmers, 7 commodities, 13 research and with area covering 14 provinces. 

We are currently looking for a Public Health Specialist to support the development for stunting prevention program. As this is mainly a project role, expect that the work will be dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-paced. Most of the times you will be working to chart the uncharted territory. This will be also a unique opportunity to build, define, and truly own a program that will deliver real impact. 

 

Employment Details 

1.       Employment Type : Contract 

2.       Project Duration : 1 Year 

3.       Location : Jakarta 

 

Responsibilities: 

1.       Develop and provide expertise related to stunting, health and nutrition equipped with technical knowledge sharing and capacity-building activities designed for beneficiaries and internally within the organization. 

2.       Review Edufarmers’ program's design, identifying additional interventions that can be implemented simultaneously with current initiative efficiently. 

3.       Examine and improve the program's theoretical foundations, theory of change, safeguarding policy, health data management policies, and the standard operating procedures (SOPs). 

4.       Help the team to build strategic insights related to unmet public health needs and develop innovative solutions that will advance Edufarmers’ strategic goals to deliver transformational stunting prevention and reduction innovation in a collaborative and responsible manner. 

5.       Develop a concept for a web app intended to support the program operations of field facilitators and community healthcare workers (kader posyandu). 

6.       Support the operationalization of stunting prevention project as well as to identify new solutions to strengthen Stunting project overall. 

7.       Support to the technical dialogue with stakeholders and with other relevant partners in relation to the Stunting’s operations. 

8.       Support to maintaining partnerships and networks within the organization and with external development partners. 

 

 

 

Qualifications 

1.       Possess experience/knowledge related to the local healthcare system (community health centers, health posts, integrated health services), implementing strategies for addressing stunting at the local level based on the guidelines from the Ministry of Health / National Family Planning Coordinating Board 

2.       Bachelor's degree in medicine / public health / any related fields to understand medical aspects related to child stunting. Master's degree in public health is a plus. 

3.       Minimum 4-5 years of work experience in designing and managing public health programs, with a focus on child health and nutrition. 

4.       Strong analytical skills to interpret child health data, trends, and patterns that may influence stunting. 

5.       Good communication and leadership skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. 

6.       In-depth knowledge of national health policies and guidelines related to nutrition and stunting prevention. 

7.       Proficiency in managing program budgets and resources efficiently  

8.       Has deep understanding regarding stunting interventions
