As we are constantly expanding, we are currently hiring to fill the following position for our office in Medan:
Sustainable Finance Manager
(Code: SFM)
This position will serve as an expert, advising internal and external partners on a range of sustainable financing mechanisms and strategies including but not limited to design, structuring, and execution of corporate green and blue bonds and other capital markets transactions; commercial green and blue loan programs and products; and private market debt and equity vehicles and instruments that advance institutional and partner country climate, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development goals and objectives in for Sundaland Program. The Sustainable Finance Manager will lead the initiative, engagement, maintain and enhance the sustainability towards the best practices available in the corporate green and blue bond based on science.
Sustainable Finance Manager must also have demonstrated knowledge or experience on the role and development of conservation finance and forestry carbon finance transactions and must be able to work across a broad range of stakeholders including external partners in the private sector, development finance institutions, project developers, government, and civil society. Must have business and commercial acumen and be able to articulate an actionable plan for developing a pipeline of high-quality emissions reductions and NCS projects (environmental and social approach) at scale. This position will base in Medan office and report directly to the Sundaland Program Director, with dotted reporting lines to the Sustainable Finance Sr. Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage oversight and/or implementation of project design, planning and scheduling; resource budgeting and management, design, evaluation, and monitoring of project performance objectives.
· Preparation, review, analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports (i.e., financial accounting), and financial forecasts, plans, budgets and reports (i.e. managerial accounting)
· Business resource planning and budgeting, including translation of operational strategies and objectives into financial plans and budgets.
· Analysis and evaluation of investment and capital budgeting decisions
· Development, evaluation and interpretation of ad hoc financial and economic analyses, models, and decision tools.
· Provision of business development, management consulting, and/or technical advisory services in maritime sector industries and forestry
· Preparation and negotiation of investment term sheets
· Preparation of investment memoranda, and coordination and management of due diligence, contracting and disbursement requirements and processes
QUALIFICATIONS
· A master's degree in sustainable finance forestry, and natural resource management-related science.
· Minimum 7 years of full-time work experience in relevant field
· Proven knowledge or experience in climate-related issues including carbon crediting transactions (origination, voluntary carbon market standards, and implementation), terrestrial and/or blue carbon.
· Demonstrated NCS carbon crediting knowledge and experience, including voluntary carbon markets, and use of carbon standards such as Verra VCS, Climate Community & Biodiversity Standards, Climate Action Reserve, ART TREES, Gold Standard, etc.
· Experience in economic valuation study for terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
· Experience in establishing the BLUD and designing institutional training for sustainability.
· Experience managing complex projects. Excellent analytical skills.
· Excellent in reporting, written and verbal communication skills.
· Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
· Demonstrated team player.
· Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to build on existing knowledge to develop new approaches.
· Demonstrated track record of working effectively and collaboratively with multicultural, international, multidisciplinary teams to produce concrete results, including strong capacity to navigate diversity, equity, and inclusion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
● Work is performed in a typical office environment may requires field trip if needed.
● Flexibility to work outside normal work hours to meet deadlines as needed.
