WLF is an Indonesian-based philanthropic foundation established in 2009 as an outgrowth of the philanthropic legacy of William and Lily Soeryadjaya. The overarching goal of WLF is to ensure that every Indonesian has an equal opportunity to flourish, which will be achieved by improving the access and quality of early childhood development and literacy and numeracy services that young Indonesians receive and enhancing livelihoods and economic growth.  WLF works with local partner organizations to achieve its goal by distributing grants.

The William & Lily Foundation is currently looking for the best fit for the following position:

Program Officer – based in Jakarta

Job Responsibilities

Program Officer responsible to ensure that partner organizations (grantees) deliver effective and efficient services to beneficiaries in line with WLF strategy, policies, and procedure, to represent the organization, and to strengthen and expand WLF's network.

Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the Foundation's program portfolio through regular coordination with grantees on program implementation and all related activities as well as provide technical support and assistance to grantees throughout the program cycle.
    • Support program design and development processes including but not limited to managing and facilitating the processes for assessments, grantee selection and evaluation activities.
    • Support grant management processes and procedures including but not limited to managing procurement, tracking grant performance and disbursements as well as reporting.
    • Support development of knowledge products for the Foundation as well as other communications needs.
    • Support the team in ensuring synergies across programs and alignment with strategic plans to maximize impact and efficiencies within the Foundation's portfolio.
    • Establish and maintain good partnership principles and communications with grantees and the Foundation's stakeholders.
    • Other tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum in relevant field
  • At least five years of experience in managing programs in the development sector, preferably in a grant-making organization.
  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships in order to work effectively within a complex environment involving both external and internal stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

    • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English languages (verbally, reading, and writing).
    • Strong analytical & critical thinking skills.
    • Self-motivated and proactive
    • Excellent organizational, planning and coordination skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work within a team and independently.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Proficiency with online collaborative work approaches.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Team player, high commitment to work and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Independent thinking with an openness to and enthusiasm for learning and new ideas and approaches.
  • Passionate about Indonesia's development and excited about the Foundation's desire to help marginalized communities through education, health, and economic empowerment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a sense of humor.
