Project Description 

Resonance is seeking candidates to serve as the LTTA to assist Grants Team in implementing the USAID/Indonesia Ber-IKAN Activity, a five-year project operating until July 2027. The Collaborative Fisheries Management or "Ber-IKAN" Activity seeks to advance Indonesia's self-reliance to protect marine biodiversity by improving sustainable and equitable management of fisheries. It contributes to the 2020-2024 USAID Indonesia Country Development Cooperation Strategy, and focuses on the following four main objectives:  

1.    Improved adoption of and compliance with evidence-based fisheries policies for priority fisheries.  

2.    Strengthened small-scale fisheries governance.  

3.    Increased government and market-based incentives for sustainable seafood products.   

4.    Improved protection of ETP marine species affected by fishing practices.  

 

USAID Ber-IKAN allocates $2.3 million in grants funding to strengthen fisheries management and sustainability in National Fisheries Management Areas (Wilayah Pengelolaan Perikanan Negara Republik Indonesia, WPP) 711 (Western Indonesia) and 715 (Eastern Indonesia).

 

In order to support the grant program and to ensure its running smoothly, it is recognized of the need of junior staff to support the daily operation of the grants management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Objective

The Grants Support Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative assistance in day-to-day activity of USAID Ber-IKAN grants management team.

 

Activity Description

This position will support USAID Ber-IKAN program related with GRANTS with a range of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Assist in the management of grant awards, including but not limited to verifying that grant proposal aligns with the organization's criteria and objectives, and adhere to grant requirements.
  • Assist the grant team to provide feedback to grantees on their proposals, including suggestions for improvement or clarification.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant activities, tracking grant deadlines and progress report.
  • Assist in the proper monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the implementation of the grantee in the targeted provinces.
  • Provide administrative support to the Grants Management team, including scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, and managing correspondence.
  • Support the Grants Management team in other tasks as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The USAID Ber-IKAN is seeking an individual staff, which can demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong English speaking and writing abilities including a knowledge of written correspondence etiquette for a business setting.
  • Previous experience in grant management is a plus but not required.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with and comfort using office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • Proficiency and comfort using the intermediate level functions of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) or similar programs such as Google Docs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member.

BASE OF OPERATIONS

The location for this position is Jakarta, Indonesia with potential travel to USAID Ber-IKAN working areas.

REPORTING

The Grants Support Assistant will report to the Grants Assistant as Primary Supervisor, and Grants Manager as Secondary Supervisor
