Project Officer – Indonesia
World Neighbors (WN) is an International non-governmental, non-profit development agency (NGO), working in Timor-Leste, which works through local partners to inspire people and strengthen communities to find lasting solutions to hunger, poverty and disease, and promote a healthy environment.
WN is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Program Officer for a new climate change adaptation (CCA) project called Climate Risk Reduction in Indonesia and Timor-Leste (CRITICAL). Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of CRITICAL in Oe-cusse, managing WN's local NGO partner(s) in all field-based activities, ensuring best practices are followed in program implementation to ensure sustainable results are achieved.
The position is based in Oe-cusse, with daily travel to remote project locations.
The position is open to Timorese nationals only. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Minimum Requirements
· A minimum of 3 years' experience working on CCA, sustainable agriculture and/or natural resource management (especially natural water springs), with rural communities in Indonesia.
· Bachelor's degree (S1) in a relevant discipline.
· Knowledge of latest CCA technologies and approaches which are relevant to the Indonesia context.
· Proficiency in all standard IT software.
· Willingness to travel frequently within Oe-cusse and elsewhere in Timor-Leste.
· Ability to work well a very flexible schedule.
· Highly motivated, team player, and quick learner personality.
