Overview

USAID SEGAR is seeking a full-time, Information Technology (IT) and Operations Support Officer to support the Activity at national level and based in Jakarta.

Objective:

To ensure the seamless functioning of USAID SEGAR, which operates across a vast geography encompassing 12 districts in 4 provinces. With the main office in Jakarta and four site offices in Aceh, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, consistent and reliable IT support is essential. This support will effectively manage the fluctuating and unpredictable IT needs effectively and maintain system security across all offices.

 

Principals Duties and Responsibilities

·        Provide IT support that includes installing, configuring and maintaining IT infrastructure and systems, with a particular emphasis on internet access, network devices, file/database servers, backup systems and other IT-related support tasks.
·        Provide daily operational and maintenance (help desk) services to users, namely, troubleshooting and repairs for hardware, software, and network problems.
·        Arrange for and oversee the maintenance of office equipment in coordination with the Operations Manager.
·        Serve as the IT representative for USAID SEGAR in communications with the Home Office (HO) IT Department.
·        Lead the purchase of office IT supplies in coordination with the Procurement Associate and Operations Manager, including developing a comparison matrix and participating in the competitive selection of hardware/software vendors.
·        Assume responsibility for labelling/tagging all office equipment and maintaining an updated inventory list for the Jakarta office, as well as overseeing SO inventories in coordination with Site AO/FAA.
·        Together with the Sr. Administrative Assistant, support Activity events in Jakarta to ensure all preparations are complete, hardware for presentations is tested, and any technology issues resolved.
·        When necessary, travel to site offices to provide IT support.
·        Act as one of the Activity's Safety and Security Focal Points (SSFP) to help ensure that the Security and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Emergency Contact List is up to date in accordance with HO guidance, that office spaces comply with the EAP and Chemonics' safety and security protocol, and that staff are aware of emergency procedures.
·        Provide additional administrative support to the Operations Manager, Deputy Chief of Party, and Chief of Party as necessary.

 

Job Requirements

·        Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of Information Management / Information Technology form a qualified university and experience in the field of Information Technology.

·        A solid understanding in network infrastructure and programming.

·        Additional general administrative/managerial experience.

·        Good problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication, interpersonal presentation and organization skills

·        Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Azure security stack.

·        Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

·        Flexible, proactive and willing to learn.
