PROGRAM ACTIVE Collaboration The Institute for Development Impact (I4DI), in partnership with USAID and Mars Inc. invites experienced consultants to participate in an open tender for an Access to Finance (A2F) Consultant role. This tender focuses on advancing sustainable financial practices and enhancing cocoa farmer livelihoods through comprehensive market assessment and innovative financial solutions.
Background
I4DI leads the ACTIVE initiative (Advancing Cocoa Agroforestry towards Income, Value, and Environmental Sustainability) at improving smallholder farmer livelihoods and promoting sustainable agroforestry in Indonesia's cocoa sector. The project targets challenges like deforestation, limited financial access, and supply chain issues, focusing on South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive research to identify the financial needs, barriers, and opportunities for cocoa farmers.
- Developing programs to improve farmers' financial literacy and management skills.
- Designing strategies to promote sustainable financial practices that enhance agricultural productivity.
- Building and strengthening partnerships with local financial institutions to support the delivery and utilization of financial services.
Location and Timeline
Activities will take place from December 2024 to January 2025 in South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilitating access to finance for smallholder communities.
- Strong understanding of Sulawesi's agricultural context, particularly cocoa farming.
