SCOPE OF WORK

ASEAN-USAID Partnership Program


POSITION
: Intern in support of Economic Growth, Trade and Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting Activities
PROJECT NAME: ASEAN-USAID Partnership Program
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: June 16, 2025 - August 15, 2025
LEVEL OF EFFORT: 30 hours/week
POSITION REPORTS TO: Objective 1 Project Manager and Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting Manager


Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) works in partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' (ASEAN) to support the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 as well as the forthcoming ASEAN Post 2025 Vision through the ASEAN-USAID Partnership Program, an Activity implemented by DAI Global LLC.  In partnership with the ASEAN Economic Community, the ASEAN-USAID Partnership Program endeavors to support inclusive economic growth and greater economic integration through digital connectivity, equitable economic development, and integration into the global economy.
Under Objective I, the Partnership Program supported activities contributing to four Outcomes: 1) ASEAN connectivity through trade facilitation and other activities; 2) ASEAN digital economy is expanded; 3) economic resiliency and sustainability supported; and 4) science, technology and innovation and emerging technologies developed.
Purpose
The ASEAN-USAID Partnership Program is seeking a is seeking an Intern to provide program management support to the Objective 1 team. Specifically, the Intern will support the Program with the implementation in four areas: 1) the ASEAN Single Window; 2) support the critical minerals work; 3) cybersecurity; and 4) digital economy issues. While learning about international development and working with a strong group of development professionals, the Intern will be learning how to put together proposals, researching development trends, and supporting international projects focused in the economic trade and growth sector. The intern will undertake a variety of tasks to assist the Objective 1 team in  Project Development, and Project Management, as well as work with the Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting Unit and with other teams as needed. In addition, the Intern will be asked to support/attend meetings with staff members and relevant technical presentations and networking events with ASEAN Secretariat.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to in the following:
1. Cybersecurity Training for All ASEAN Secretariat Staff
• Program Design & Content Development: Research industry best practices (e.g. NIST, ISO) and curate relevant modules. At the instruction of trainers to draft slide decks, handouts, and interactive exercises.
• Participant Coordination: Develop and manage the online registration form. Maintain real-time participant lists and process any registration updates. Prepare name badges, and materials packets.
• Monitoring & Evaluation Support: Work with the M&E specialist to design pre-and post-training.

2. Planning for session for the ASEAN AI Summit (tentative)
• Program Development & Speaker Management: Research and shortlist regional and global AI experts. Draft and send personalized speaker invitations, track RSVPs and bios. Prepare session abstracts, and speaker profiles. Organize sessions dry run.
• Post-Event Follow-Up & Reporting: Aggregate session recordings, photographs, and presentation files. Distribute participant survey and analyze results to identify key insights. Draft comprehensive post-event report and organize an internal debrief session to transfer all deliverables and lesson learned.
 
3. Supporting the ASEAN Single Window Trader Survey
• Support the Trade Consultant in creating the SurveyMonkey survey.
• Support the Trade Consultant in shortlisting traders community (business councils/associations) to disburse the ASW Trader Survey.
• Support the Trade Consultant in collecting data/information from the survey.
• Support in developing presentation materials for meetings with good design – in collaboration with the MEL team.

4. Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting
• In coordination with Program Managers, develop program highlight for social media and other publication purposes.
• Work closely with MEL Specialist to generate success stories from post event report as needed.
• Support Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting Manager in producing periodic reporting as needed.

Qualifications:
• Must be a full-time student or recent graduate of a B.A program in International Relations, International Development, Foreign Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, or related subject
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
• Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office required
• Detail oriented and prepared to support administrative tasks
• Proficiency in a second language a plus
• Must be able to work at least 30 hours a week Monday- Friday beginning on/about June 16, 2025 and ending on/about August 15, 2025
• Indonesian work authorization required.
