- Map and benchmark energy use across Indonesian industrial estates (SIER, Batamindo, etc.) using site visits, utility data, and GIS tools.
- Identify low-carbon opportunities (waste-heat recovery, solar rooftops, cogeneration) tailored to local context and infrastructure constraints.
- Model demand-side management scenarios and renewable energy integration using local data and national regulation.
- Develop policy recommendations for Government Institutions on incentives, ESCO frameworks, and industrial park regulations.
- Support the ESB team to provide capacity building to utilities, government stakeholders, industrial parks, and corporates on energy transition and energy planning.
- Provide the team with technical considerations and strategy to deliver technical assistance to the industrial park through workplan development, stakeholder assessment, and daily team coordination.
- Develop knowledge products (e.g., working paper, report, presentation, policy brief, blogpost, etc.) on topics related to the industrial park's energy transition and industrial decarbonization, capturing best practices and learnings from SETI implementation.
- In coordination with WRI's RDI and team and internal/external experts to ensure quality of research products.
- Lead coordination and work with subject matter experts (e.g., consultants/experts, universities, governments, research institutions) to produce research products.
- Represent WRI Indonesia in relevant national and international events whenever necessary.
- Engage with targeted key stakeholders, including relevant government officials, industrial park companies, companies, technology developers, and ESCOs to deliver technical assistance.
- Monitor and evaluate technical implementation of SETI's technical assistance to companies to ensure quality and punctuality.
- Proactively contribute to internal discussions and external discussions with SETI's key stakeholders, including donors, government, companies, and technology developers
- Provide technical and strategic advice to the SETI Senior Project Lead, ESB Senior Manager, and ESB Engagement Manager on the observed technical implementations' gaps and opportunities, potential collaborations and resource management.
- Contribute to proposal writing and project reports related to an energy-sustainable business portfolio.
- Coordinate with other programs or international offices for any joint discussions and events related to energy efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Systems, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 (four) years of experience working in energy analysis, energy policy research, or industrial park development.
- Proven in-depth understanding and experience in conducting industrial park projects with partners or clients.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and ideas to advance the industrial park in Indonesia.
- Ability to contribute to designing and implementing a robust approach to collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data and consider impacts on people, climate, and nature, as appropriate.
- Ability to define research questions and select a research approach that matches the questions, with limited manager guidance.
- Ability to communicate research approach and findings effectively to technical audiences, both internally and externally. Develop skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-expert audiences, with manager support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive coordination within the team and with external counterparts.
- A well-organized and detail-oriented personality with great time management skills to work on multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, both independently and as part of a global team.
- Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work product
- Fluent verbal and written communications in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Ability and willingness to travel to other Indonesian provinces and overseas for business purposes.
