Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a new Call for Proposals under the "Corporate Accountability, Resilience, and Participation for an Equitable Transition (CARPET)" Project, a 42-month initiative co-funded by the European Union. This funding opportunity forms part of the wider CARPET Project led by the Business & Human Rights Centre in partnership with NANHRI (Africa) and YLBHI (Indonesia).
The CARPET Project seeks to promote a rights-based, just transition to green economies across Africa and Asia. It aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations (CSOs) and rights-holders to influence green economic initiatives; engages companies and investors to improve human rights and environmental practices; and supports governments in adopting and enforcing policies that promote responsible business conduct.
Through this Call, a total of €700,000 in Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) will be awarded to eight grassroots and local CSOs. Each selected organisation may receive a grant up to €87,500.
The Call is open to organisations working in the following countries and sectors:
- Kenya: Renewable Energy, Agribusiness, Textile
- South Africa: Transition Minerals Mining, Renewable Energy, Agriculture
- Indonesia: Transition Minerals Mining, Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Textile
- Philippines: Transition Minerals Mining, Renewable Energy, Agriculture
Eligible initiatives should contribute to strengthening corporate accountability, enhancing community resilience, and promoting meaningful civil society participation in high-risk sectors such as critical minerals mining, renewable energy, textiles, and agribusiness.
We kindly encourage you to share this opportunity widely within your networks. For detailed eligibility criteria and full application guidelines, kindly refer to the Call for Proposal. For any questions or clarifications, please contact: CARPET@business-humanrights.org.
