Job Summary
The Project Coordinator for Emergency Response will coordinate, implement, and monitor CRS – CORDAID emergency response activities in Aceh and Medan. You will support field operations, partner engagement, and activity planning to ensure timely, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of emergency assistance. Working closely with the Program Manager, TAs, Safeguarding focal point, MEAL , partners, and local authorities, you will help ensure that CRS emergency programming is responsive, accountable, and aligned with CRS standards, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles.
This role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to manage multiple field activities simultaneously, and the capacity to make informed decisions in dynamic emergency environments.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate and communicate with CORDAID other DRA fund recipients by involving the country manager/program manager.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation of emergency response activities in Aceh, ensuring alignment with project plans, donor requirements, and CRS quality standards.
- Lead field-level coordination with implementing partners for assessments, beneficiary registration, verification, distributions, and post‑distribution monitoring.
- Ensure timely preparation of activity logistics, including scheduling, invitations, venue arrangements, materials preparation, and participant follow-up.
- Monitor field progress, identify operational challenges, and propose solutions to the Country Manager/Program Manager.
2. MEAL & Reporting
- Support partners for rapid assessments, needs analysis, and data collection in collaboration with MEAL staff.
- Document field observations, lessons learned, and good practices to inform program improvement and future emergency programming.
- Prepare timely activity reports, field updates, and inputs for donor reporting.
- Ensure accountability mechanisms are implemented at field level, including feedback channels and community engagement.
3. Partner & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with local government agencies, community leaders, and implementing partners to ensure effective collaboration.
- Represent CRS at local coordination meetings and emergency working groups when delegated.

4. Operations, Finance & Compliance
- Support procurement requests, travel planning, and payment documentation for field activities, training, and workshops.
- Ensure proper stewardship of project materials, supplies, and resources.
- Monitor field expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with CRS policies, donor regulations, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles.
5. Safety & Security
- Monitor field conditions and provide timely updates to the Country Manager and Security Focal Point.
- Ensure staff and partners adhere to CRS safety and security protocols during field activities.
- Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning for field operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Disaster Management, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably with an international NGO.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting emergency response or humanitarian programming.
- Experience coordinating with local government, partners, and community stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with humanitarian standards (Sphere, CHS) and emergency response approaches.
- Experience with cash assistance, market-based programming, or rapid assessments.
- Experience supporting proposal inputs and basic budgeting.
- Experience working in Aceh or North Sumatra is an advantage.

- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in fast‑moving emergency contexts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented, and adaptable.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations in Aceh.
Required Languages
- Bahasa Indonesia (fluent)
- English (working proficiency preferred)
Travel Requirement
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% to field locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Country Manager, PAR IV Program Manager, Finance Manager and Sub Regional FO, Safeguarding SPO, Monitoring Accountability and Gender Protection (MAGP) Project Officer.
External: DRA recipient NGOs, Implementing partners, national and local coordination mechanisms government stakeholders, NGO/CSO practitioners.
