Background 

 

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international medical and humanitarian, non-profit organization acting in accordance with the principles of humanitarian assistance, impartiality, neutrality, medical ethics and medical confidentiality, independent from any political, religious, military or economic authority 

In compliance with MSF's charter and based on an independent assessment of needs, MSF provides medical and humanitarian assistance to populations in distress without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender or political convictions, in the contexts of epidemics, endemic diseases, natural disasters and conflicts. The humanitarian and impartial nature of MSF's action and operational principles is recognized and respected by the Parties as a requirement for and condition of MSF's activities. 

 

 

Main Purpose 

 

Supporting the puskesmas and other health facilities in the target area of coverage in providing COVID19 clinical management including diagnosis, contact training, nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, monitoring of supplies needed and data recording and reporting according to current medical guidelines and protocols of MSF and MOH Indonesia. 

 

 

Accountabilities 

 

  • Works together with the Covid19 Medical Team in the training and monitoring of staff of the puskesmas or other facilities ran by other NGOs in terms of:  
  • Infection Prevention and Control 
  • Health Education 
  • Performance and interpretation of rapid diagnostic tests 
  • Contact tracing  
  • Developing and continuously activities, interventions and tools in accordance with the changes in context, current Covid19 situation.  
  • Supporting the staff of the puskesmas or other facilities ran by other NGOs on proper utilization and consumption monitoring of PPE and other supplies.  
  • Supporting the Medical Data Analyst in collecting appropriate information/data from the Puskesmas and other facilities supported by MSF.  
  • Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times. 
  • Participating in health education in the community when necessary.  
  • Facilitate training/education session about Covid19 to MSF colleagues, together with the Covid19 Medical Team 
  • Actively updating his/her knowledge about Covid19  
  • Supporting in staff health related concerns when asked by supervisor 
  • Actively participating in team meetings and giving inputs on reports and discussions.  
  • Participating in emergency interventions when required 

     

 

 

Requirements 

 

 

Education 

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other equivalent diploma 

    Desirable experience in Tropical Medicine and/or Public Health 

Experience 

 

 

  • Desirable 2 years of previous experience in a similar field 
  • Desirable previous experience in other NGO's 
  • Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting 
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa 

Knowledge  

  1. Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
