The Opportunity

The Knowledge Management Program Officer is responsible for supporting the knowledge centre, and the implementation of KOMPAK knowledge sharing events.

 

Key Duties

·         Support KOMPAK Knowledge Centre development including those developed by the Government of Indonesia (GoI) and KOMPAK strategic partners

·         Stocktaking KOMPAK products to be utilized and stored in KOMPAK Knowledge Centre

·         Support KOMPAK knowledge sharing events, particularly in facilitating the preparation and providing of relevant products

·         Brainstorming ideas to ensure that KOMPAK Knowledge Centre development and knowledge sharing events run smoothly

·         Coordinate and communicate with Communications & Knowledge Management Lead and Knowledge Management Manager, CKM team, Province Manager and KM Task Force related to Knowledge Centre development and knowledge sharing events

·         Other assignments from Communications & Knowledge Management Lead and Knowledge Management Manager which are related to Knowledge Centre and events


Key Requirements

·         University Graduate with at least 3 years working experience in the field of information systems, library science or data management

·         Good analytical and reporting skills with high accuracy

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Understanding of gender equality and social inclusion issues

SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR CHANGE COMMUNICATION (SBCC) SPECIALIST - NUSATANI


The SBCC SPECIALIST reports to the NUSATANI Manager and is responsible for creating/tailoring and implementing specific behavior change strategies which have strong linkages between agriculture and health & nutrition. This also includes technical assistance and support to the field teams, as well as measuring the effectiveness of the strategy.

  • Experience in conducting barrier analysis.

  • Experience in training others.

  • Familiarity with any of these issues: nutrition, public/community health, agriculture, women empowerment.

  • Experience working in isolated islands/rural areas, and a good understanding of Sumba and Sumbawa context is preferred.

  • Familiar with working on virtual settings and technology-aware, including doing supervision in a remote setting / from a distance.

 

This is a roving position, where you will be based in Sumba Barat and covering both locations in Sumba Barat and Bima. Therefore you will frequently travel to Bima.

Since 2010, Nutrition International (NI) has been providing support to government and salt processors for salt iodization in three main salt producing areas; viz. Central Java, East Java and West Nusa Tenggara province. This includes technical assistance to develop capacity of salt processors to fortify salt, assistance to Provincial and District Industries and Trade Offices in monitoring and supervision of USI programs as well as strengthen USI IDD monitoring. Considerable progress has been made, particularly on the institutionalization of USI monitoring within local governments. In Central Java adequately iodized salt coverage increased from 60% in 2017 to 85% in 2020, and East Java from 62% to 89% at the same time.

However, these achievements need to be strengthened and maintained through effective USI monitoring and control. Capacity of local monitoring agencies i.e., DITOs to monitor USI and control IDD need to be continuously maintained and strengthened. NI will continue its support for local government to implement USI monitoring in Central Java and East Java Provinces through providing refresher training on USI external quality control for DITO officers.

Therefore, NI is seeking services from an agency that has experience and capacity to conduct external QC refresher training for DITO officers from salt producing district in Central Java and East Java provinces.

[newdevjobsindo] [Traineeship Program Notice] GIZ Indonesia for the Green Infrastructure Development (GID) project: Trainee Program for West Java Province, Central Java Province, East Java Province, Bali Province

Indonesia's impressive socio-economic development over the past two decades has brought with it a substantial negative impact on the environment. The continuing lack of urban infrastructure leads to widespread congestion, excessive pressure on electricity and water supplies and causes significant environmental impacts and further increased of emissions due to pollution in urban areas. The profound need for further policy reforms and increased investment in urban infrastructure to improve the provision of public services, reduce pollution and reduce CO2 emissions will be medium-term development plan for the years 2020-2024. 

Against this background, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Indonesian Ministry for National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) agreed to launch the Indonesian – German Green Infrastructure Initiative in the framework of the bilateral government negotiations on 01.and 02. 10.2019. As part of the initiative, an additional EUR 2.5 billion will be made available for subsidized loans via the German Development Bank KfW for investments to promote environment- and/or climate-relevant infrastructure in Indonesia (Urban Public Transport, Solid Waste Management, Water and Wastewater Management). GIZ has been commissioned by BMZ with the implementation of the project Green Infrastructure Development (GID) as a Technical Cooperation assignment complimentary to the Financial Cooperation. In this context, the project aims to strengthen the Indonesian Government's approach to the coherent identification and development of investment projects in the fields of support for the Indonesian – German Green Infrastructure Initiative. 

To this end, the planning agencies of selected provincial governments, under the coordination of Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) and the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) under Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment (CMMAI) and the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs (CMEA), in close coordination with key infrastructure financing institutions, will be supported in project development and implementation in the areas of future-oriented, climate-friendly transport turnaround, implementation of the national waste and marine waste strategy as well as in the area of climate and environmental protection in municipal of urban infrastructure. 

The first stage of implementation will take place at the following provinces that have been selected by the Steering Committee namely West Java, Central Java, East Java and Bali. 

To support the Provincial Advisor for the implementation of the Green Infrastructure Development (GID), we are seeking 4 (four) trainees for the following position:  

 

Trainee Program for
West Java Province, Central Java Province, East Java Province, Bali Province 

 

A.    Responsibilities

During the trainee, participants will be mentored by Provincial Advisor and will be given specific assignments such:

  • Support preparation of various GID activities carried out online and offline, including joint activities with GID Counterparts
  • Collecting and processing data (legal, numeric, and graphic) related to urban infrastructure development in the respective Province
  • Supporting Project list and Process of Project dossiers
  • Supporting Sector Workshops Program conducted by GID and Counterparts
  • Supporting Presentation materials and materials of press release of social media publications
  • Study on green infrastructure development with 3 sectors including water and wastewater management, waste management, and urban public transport. 

B.    Tasks 

  • Assist the Provincial Advisor in compiling data needed
  • Assist the Provincial Advisor in collecting baseline survey data and radical listening at priority locations
  • Assist the Provincial Advisor in compiling pre-survey and survey reports including preparation for the presentation materials
  • Assist the Provincial Advisor in providing the content for the social media publications for GII website or Provincial website respectively
  • Support to carry out activities or work in the field according to the direction of the Provincial Advisor
  • Support Logistic preparation for the workshop/meeting
  • Assist the Provincial Advisor to provide update report to the Provincial Advisor
  • Assist the Provincial Advisor to provide activity report (and financial report if needed) for administrative purpose in GID.  

C.    Required qualifications and competences 

  • Fresh graduate or last semester master student in in Economics/Business, Social Science, Development Studies, Urban/Regional Development, or other related academic fields
  • Have a laptop and familiar using the platform for online meetings
  • Good communication, organization, writing skills, and information management skills,
  • Intercultural understanding is additional advantages
  • Self-motivated with time management skills and ability to work with minimum supervision, and strong willingness to learn
  • Good command of Ms. Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and graphic software
  • Good command of English skills (both written and spoken)
  • Experience in literature research and expert interviews
  • Have an interest in engaging in local, national and international cooperation
  • Preferably active in student/public organizations or activities in Social or Urban/ Regional Development or Environment (climate change).

Activity Purposes:

The main objective of the evaluation is to document and inform the stakeholders (Donors, partners, local governments and rightsholders) of the project's relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, the potential impact in relation to project outcomes and the lessons learned, disaggregated per type of rightsholders (men, women, youth). The end of project evaluation shall relate largely to the baseline evaluation to allow measuring progress and the contribution of the project.

 

Evaluation Output:

The key deliverables of this evaluation will include;

Output 1: A detailed work plan developed with and approved by IRW, setting out the detailed methodology and deliverables prior to commencing the field visits.

Output 2: The incumbent will submit a comprehensive end line evaluation report in both electronic version and signed hard copy. The document should be very precise and address each specific objective.

 

The incumbent will submit the following:

Inception report on the execution of the assignment within three days of the commencement of the consultancy; setting out how he/she will approach the assignment, proposed methodology, evaluating team, proposed budget and detailed work plan and data collection tools, including draft survey questionnaire for collection of field-level data.

 

Output 3: The incumbent will also deliver a high-quality Power-Point presentation to wider

     audience such as IR staff, donors and other stake holders

Output 4: Final report, incorporating Project teams', CD's, HoP's and other stakeholders'

    input, completed after input is received.

 

Desired Qualification and Experience:         

The consultants/consulting firm should be an experienced and have expertise in the following:

·       Extensive experience in research work and in disaster or/and  livelihood assessments/evaluations, including previous working experience in Indonesia;

·       At least a Master's Degree in economics, developmental studies, business administration and social science or related field for the lead consultant/ a minimum of Bachelor's Degree on the relevant academic areas with 7 years of progressive experience in research can be acceptable.

·       Five years demonstrated experience in research in context like Indonesia with sound understanding of cross cutting themes such as child protection, child rights and awareness.

·       Knowledge in Research Methodologies and application of various tools including practical experience in assessments, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community- based interventions

·       The incumbent should have proven experience of using participatory methods as the means of data collection and analysis.

·       Fluency in spoken and written English, knowledge of local language of Palu is an added advantage.

·       Excellent analytical and report writing skills with skills in using statistical packages such as SPSS.

 Position Summary: 

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will oversee the effective operations of grants; progress and outcome monitoring and learning; and communications with and reporting to USAID and other stakeholders, ensuring these functions are fully aligned with programmatic priorities and objectives, and effective field officer coordination. The DCOP, a Key Personnel position, will support the Chief of Party (COP) in overall project leadership, management, and technical direction of the Harmoni project.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the COP and technical team with strategy development, planning, implementation, management, client engagement and coordination between partners, government counterparts, and other implementing partners.
  • Support the COP in setting security, infection control and crisis management policies and procedures, and in overseeing their execution.
  • Oversee the grants portfolio, including support to technical staff in grant development, formulation, compliance, and quality control.
  • Support technical staff in design and drafting of grant proposals to USAID.
  • Oversee the effective operation and oversight of grants, ensuring that all grants fit project objectives and indicator targets for performance.
  •  Work with the grants and technical teams to ensure grant activities are complying with MSI and USAID policies/regulations.
  •  Support the Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MEL) team to interpret data to understand project progress and areas that need more support.
  •  Work closely with MEL and program teams to coordinate context monitoring and apply together with M&E results to programming and learning.
  •  Develop, support and document learning and application of lessons in adapting programming and/or management, working closely with the technical and strategic communications teams in doing this.
  •  Oversee and support quarterly, annual and any special reports to USAID.
  •  Support annual workplan development.
  •  Support the development of stories of project impact in different formats including short videos, photographs, blogs, testimonials, and the like.
  •  Work close with the CVE communications and MEL teams in doing this.
  •  Help shape and coordinate communications with project partners, USAID, and government counterparts.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in development studies, business administration, or a social science required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of professional experience in international development with significant relevant experience in project management and supervising staff in a programmatic and/or operational capacity.
  • At least three years of dedicated experience working on USAID grant programs and extensive knowledge of USAID regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in programs requiring community-level engagement, civic engagement, and/or democracy promotion required.
  • Experience in P/CVE or conflict programming preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications strategy and product development both on- and offline, especially dealing with sensitive issues and at-risk communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning for a complex program, which includes measuring, analyzing, and reporting on performance, as well as external conditions and situations that may affect activities and the project's ability to achieve results.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, and ability to manage and be flexible in difficult and challenging circumstances.
