Job Description: IDG is seeking a Strategic Alliances Specialist to lead the establishment and strengthening of relationships and partnerships between the private sector and key workforce development (WFD) stakeholders such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions on the anticipated USAID/Indonesia EGE-Partnerships for Productive Workforce (PADU) contract. The aim of the PADU activity is to enhance private sector investment in vocational training programs through partnerships with TVET institutions.

The Strategic Alliances Specialist will be responsible for leading and managing the partnerships between the private sector and key WFD stakeholders, including but not limited to TVET institutions, government counterparts, and the private sector. The WFD Specialist will work closely with the WFD Specialist, other technical staff and consultants both in the field office and home office, PADU's senior leadership, and with Indonesian stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

• Lead and be the driving force behind establishing, strengthening, and adapting partnerships between the private sector, government, and WFD stakeholders such as TVET institutions.

• Serve as the central focal point between the private sector, TVET institutions, government counterparts, and youth-focused organizations.

• Set up meetings, training, and workshops between the private sector, TVET institutions, and government counterparts.

• Lead the design and establishment of Memorandums of Understanding and agreements between the private sector, TVET institutions, and government counterparts.

• Ensure the established partnerships are effectively leading to increased labor insertion and are responding to the needs of the private sector.

• The Strategic Alliances Specialist may also directly engage with youth-focused organizations to effectively establish relationships between the organizations and TVET institutions.

 

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree business (MBA) or in a relevant field.

• At least 8 years of experience working in the private sector, establishing partnerships between the private sector and other stakeholders in Indonesia, especially TVET institutions.

 

 

• Demonstrated experience with establishing Public-Private Partnerships.

• Familiarity with incentives for the private sector to join WFD partnerships, including the tax incentives the GOI is offering for businesses that implement vocational training to strengthen the quality of human resources or work via formal and non-formal training institutions.

• Demonstrated presentational and communication skills, including the ability to give presentations in front of high-level personnel such as CEOs, presidents, and executive directors.

• Demonstrated business skills and ability to make pitches that convince key stakeholders to join partnerships.

• Excellent inter-personal and relationship-building skills.

• Previous experience working on a similar USAID or donor funded project preferred.

• Experience working with youth, marginalized communities, or others who traditionally face barriers of entering the labor market in Indonesia preferred.

• Ability to work across various teams with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build consensus and navigate complex operating environments.

• Indonesian nationality and verbal and written fluency in English required.
