Yayasan WWF Indonesia, an independent national conservation organization, is part of a global network of WWF. Yayasan WWF Indonesia is currently seeking the best candidate for the position of Forest Specialist. This position will be based in Jayapura, Papua, and report directly to the Project Leader Sarmi-Jayapura.
Purpose of the position:
Develop policy-based activities, and provide conservation models and/or expertise for projects/programs such as sustainable forestry activities, community-based forest management, development of implemented environmental services, sustainable forest management, sustainable forest management, and reduction of deforestation rates in accordance with WWF-Indonesia's conservation strategy, in order to contribute to the realization of the objectives of the project/program to ensure nature conservation
Qualifications & Skills:
- University degree in Forestry, Social Science, Environmental Science, or another relevant subject.
- 3-5 years experience in forestry or social community
- Ability to write and speak in an organized, clear, and articulate manner for a wide range of audiences including local governments, local private sector and smallholders, local NGOs, local communities, donors, and partners.
- Highly organized and systematic with strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines required.
