PROSPERA – ECONOMIST (LABOUR AND SKILLS)
The role
Prospera seeks the services of an Economist (Labour and Skills) to support the Labour and Skills Practice Area with the aim to create an efficient labour market, which effectively matches jobs with workers and adjusts quickly to changing economic conditions, and an improved skill development system”.
The Economist will bring specific expertise and knowledge in labour market policies and rigorous empirical analysis. S/he will support the development of labour market and skill development policies designed to improve the competitiveness of the Indonesian economy and private sector.
The Economist must have an advanced degree, at least five years of experience conducting policy-oriented research, familiarity with econometric analysis of survey data, and good understanding of the Indonesian labour market.
About you (Selection Criteria)
Candidates applying for the position will need to demonstrate the following qualifications:
· Advance degree in Economics, with minimum of five years of experience conducting policy-oriented research and advisory. Candidates with bachelor’s degree but with additional years of relevant experience can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
· Strong quantitative data analysis skills, with expert knowledge of econometrics and statistical software (e.g. Stata).
· Demonstrated ability to plan and execute analytical studies to answer specific policy questions.
· Knowledge of the labour market and related economic concepts and policies, and familiarity with the Indonesian labour market dynamics and policy context.
· Ability to work collaboratively on a variety of projects and think creatively about policy issues.
· Willingness to work long hours as required, perform tasks outside the usual job scope, and willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
· Demonstrated ability for accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to build, develop and maintain sound working relationships with government representatives, public and private sector organizations and other stakeholders.
About the program
Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment.
Remuneration
The remuneration will be set according to National Remuneration Framework Group C, Job Level 2, for Indonesia national. The remuneration level at which the Economist (Labour and Skills) is engaged will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant skills and experience. The role is based in Jakarta- Indonesia.
