Background
Nutrition International (NI) has been supporting the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Health (MoH), Province Health Office (PHO) and District Health Offices (DHOs), with implementing a demonstration project in Cimahi city and Purwakarta district in West Java Province to build government commitment to revitalize and sustain the national program for prevention of Iron Deficiency Anemia in school-going adolescent girls in Indonesia. After encouraging results from the demonstration project it has been continued to a scale up and replication of the key program elements to four provinces in Indonesia. NI is continuing its support to West Java and Banten provinces from April 2020 to March 2025.
NI supports the implementation and strengthening of the Weekly Iron & Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFAS) program at the province and district levels through placement of Provincial and District consultants in respective provinces. The consultants work with Offices of Health, Education, Religious Affairs, and Local Secretariat at Province and District levels, facilitate and catalyze improvement of program implementation and increase in WIFA coverage and adherence from school to province levels. It is expected NI's consultants will continue facilitating the collaboration between relevant sectors and provide support for supervision at multiple levels (province, district, puskesmas and schools). The capacity of the system at the province and district levels particularly, will be strengthened to revitalize WIFA supplementation among school-going adolescent girls.
These Terms of Reference (ToR) are for hiring a District Consultant (supported by the Provincial Consultant) who are placed at the province level) to improve coordination, commitment, and catalyze the WIFA program implementation at the district level through the collaborations of multiple sectors. They will facilitate the above identified activities as well as other nutrition programs that are supported by NI in the respective provinces. One district extender will be placed in West Java province. District Consultant will work closely with Provincial Consultant in the area and Program Officer of NI.
Candidate requirements:
· A bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: public health, nutrition, medicine, and/or health systems management.
· Experience working min 2 years (preferably experience in nutrition program and/or disease control) with the government, NGOs or donors.
· Willing to travel with high intensity. Ability to speak and/or understand English is an advantage.
· Ability to operate computers and work on MS office (word and excel) and use the internet.
