To develop highly functional and multi-faceted programmes that will provide support to the Member States in their efforts to prevent and treat HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STI), viral hepatitis and HIV-associated opportunistic infections, especially HIV-TB co-infection by: guiding national strategies and policies towards increasing access to prevention, treatment and care; coordinating and leading efforts of partner agencies in order to achieve mutual goals; and ensure effective surveillance and information dissemination to inform programme and services improvement
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Technical Officer (HIV/STI/Hepatitis), the incumbent will:
1. Provide strategic and technical support to the Government of Indonesia in the area of delivery of HIV prevention, care and treatment services, including HIV-TB co-infection;
2. Collaborate with government counterparts in the MoH, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with respect to service delivery of HIV and HIV-TB co-infection;
3. Actively involve in planning and implementation of strategies and initiate activities for the delivery of good quality management of HIV and HIV-TB co-infection;
4. Advocate for and provide support to CSOs to develop strategies to rolling out prevention, care and treatment of HIV and HIV-TB co-infection beyond HIV testing;
5. Provide technical support in the development of project proposals for resource mobilization for HIV and HIV-TB co-infection;
6. Contribute to donor reports produced on a regular basis and on demand from for all levels of WHO, and other stakeholders;
7. Undertake any other tasks/duties as assigned by supervisors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: University degree in Medicine.
Desirable: Postgraduate degree in medicine and/or public health or other relevant areas.
Experience
Essential: At least two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of health programmes at the national level with some experience in managing HIV/AIDS or TB prevention and control programme.
Desirable: Experience of work in United Nations and/or other international organization
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of public health approach to HIV control in Indonesia and globally.
- Management experience, in particular, those related to roll out of prevention, care and treatment with specific experience WHO policies, rules and regulations, structure and functions.
- Thorough knowledge of programme planning, monitoring and evaluation process.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in multicultural environment, establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive/classified information.
- Technical expertise and Overall attitude at work are also required mandatory competencies.
