Knowledge community / NL Alumni Officer
Nuffic Neso Indonesia is an overseas office of Nuffic, the Netherlands expertise and service centre for internationalisation in education. The primary geographic scope of work of the office is Indonesia, however, the office is in transformation and by 2024 it will serve all of the Southeast Asia region.
The key activities of Nuffic Neso Indonesia are:
- Promotion of two-way student mobility between Indonesia/Southeast Asia and the Netherlands, including student counselling
- Providing information on study programmes and internship places for Dutch students in Indonesia/Southeast Asia
- Supporting institutional cooperation between Indonesian and Dutch higher and vocational education institutions
- Supporting Netherlands (NL) Alumni networks and Indonesian knowledge community in the Netherlands, to be involved in social, cultural, trade and investment relationships
- Management of Tailor-Made Training and scholarship programmes
- Coordination of education, knowledge and exchange projects
- Development of the NL Knowledge House Indonesia
- Supporting Connectivity between the Netherlands/European Union and Indonesia/Southeast Asia
Nuffic Neso Indonesia is currently recruiting for the position of Knowledge Community / NL Alumni Officer, based in Jakarta, to develop and implement policies and activities for the Knowledge Community / NL Alumni in Indonesia and the Netherlands. The scope of the function will gradually expand to Southeast Asia.

Knowledge Community / NL Alumni Officer is to initiate, facilitate, strengthen and maintain relationships with Indonesian alumni, including Indonesians affiliated with research and education in the Netherlands, Dutch Higher Education Institutions, the business community and with other relevant stakeholders in Indonesia and the Netherlands. This will gradually expand to Southeast Asia. The officer is expected to contribute to the generic promotion activities, communications with a great variety of stakeholders, student counselling, event organization and management, and other activities of Nuffic Neso Indonesia.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an overall plan for strategic engagement of Indonesian knowledge community / NL alumni in Indonesia and the Netherlands.
- Develop linkages with NL Alumni networks in Southeast Asia, notably Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia
- Organize events involving NL Alumni and Indonesian knowledge community, such as gatherings, career fairs, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Ensure involvement of NL Alumni in trade missions and investment promotion
- Maintain contact with the Indonesian knowledge community / NL Alumni, using a variety of online available options
- Gather information in order to support Dutch education promotional activities
- Contribute to website content and social media
- Link NL alumni activities to relevant third-party activities
- Work closely with colleagues to develop/implement annual plans together
- Other duties might include media relations, press contacts

- Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor's degree, preferably Masters degree from a Netherlands based Higher Education Institution (Research University or Applied Sciences)
- Knowledge of Dutch higher education system
- Min. 2-3 years of experience in promotion, marketing or event-organizing
- Excellent social and interpersonal skills
- Excellent networking, communication and organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and work with deadlines
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, knowledge of Dutch will be an advantage
- Willing to work and travel outside regular office hours
- Thorough knowledge of MS office applications
- Able to work in a team and independently
