Yayasan Rumah Energi (YRE) was established in 2012 in the social and humanitarian fields. The organization is mandated to contribute and create positive impacts on poverty alleviation, strengthening the livelihood of grassroots' communities, adaptation and mitigation to climate change and assisting in disaster risk reduction through innovation and shared knowledge. Our flagship program is the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Program (BIRU). BIRU has facilitated the installation of 27,909 biodigesters in 16 provinces across Indonesia. The program has impacted over 129,684 people among which 27.912 people are farmers; trained 1,458 local masons; 153 local partner including Micro Finance Institutions, SMEs and universities. YRE has also been providing social business incubation assistance to women entrepreneurs through our Pro Women, Puan (Desa) Inspiratif programs and Sustainable Cacao Farmers and Organic Fertilizer Market (SCORE) Project.

Start in December 2022, YRE with funding from Ford Foundation will implement a year project named the PROWOMEN for Renewable Energy Project in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The PROWOMEN for Renewable Energy Project's objective is to support gender equality mainstreaming for just energy transitions in the rural areas of eastern Indonesia. Currently, YRE is looking for a Gender Officer to support the PROWOMEN for Renewable Energy Project in achieving its objective, milestons and KPIs.

I.           About the Post

The Gender Officer primary responsibilities are to support implementation of the project in the filed and provide intensive assistance to gender inclusivity aspect of the Project.  The Gender Officer will be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

II.         Task and Responsibilities

The Gender Officer will be tasked with the following duties:

·       Ensure that project implementation are aware and apply the values of gender equality.

  • Develop gender inclusive project instruments (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) including the Modules

·       Develop gender sensitive community engagement plan

  • Conduct regular visits to assisted beneficeries
  • Facilitate socialization and introduction of the project to beneficeries
  • Provide orientation and series of gender inclusive gender Action Learning System-Advanced (GALS) and pelatihan Financial Action Learning System (FALS) trainings to assisted beneficeries
  • In coordination with Project team, participate in every Project community training to ensure it is gender sensitive

·       Ensure that every community engagement process, training and capacity building including socialization of the Project is gender sensitive.  

  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management

III.    Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

The Gender Officer is expected to have the following qualifications:

·       A minimum of Bachelor (S-1) degree.

·       Experience working with green energy promotion

·       Demonstrated leadership capacity in gender sensitiveness 

·       Able to develop and maintain good relationships with government agencies/institutions at all levels, non-government organization, and civil society organizations.

·       Experience in preparing and conducting training

·       Good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

·       Good command of English and Indonesian communication skills.

·       Proven Experience in the same position of at least 3 years

·       Ability to make reports in a structured and informative manner

·       Knowing the area of Lombok is a plus

·       Exhibit cultural sensitivity

·       Have negotiation and managerial skills

·       Proactive and have ability to work together in a team

·       Able to work independently and with minimal supervision

IV.         Term of Employment

The appointment is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. YRE offers a one-year contract.
