Urgently Needed: Field Officers  

 

Rikolto in Indonesia, operates in Denpasar, Bali Province is the regional branch of Rikolto International, an international NGO with more than 40 years experience in partnering with farmer organisations and food chain stakeholders across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America committed to developing sustainable agriculture value chains and food systems. 

Rikolto runs programmes in 15 countries worldwide through eight regional offices. We're a close-knit network of accessible and knowledgeable colleagues, willing to share experience and eager to inspire others.  

 

Rikolto soon will implement a project named "LASCARCOCO" in cooperation with Olam Food Ingredients (OFI). This project will be working in 3 main areas: North Sumatera, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara Province.  

Therefore, we urgently looking for 5 (five) professional who is interested to work for this project and willing to contribute and grow in the development programme to fill the position as Field Officer : 

 

2 Field Officers for North Sumatera, based in Simalungun (Code: RFO-NS01) 

2 Field Officers for South Sulawesi, based in Luwu (Code : RFO-SS02) 

1 Field Officer for East Nusa Tenggara, based in Flores, Manggarai/Bajawa (Code: RFO-FL03) 

 

Position Overview 

The Field Officer is responsible for the day-to-day Lascarcoco project implementation in their respective area by providing technical assistance and training to farmers and/or farmer groups in the respective working areas. Under the direction of the Area Coordinator, the Field Officer will take responsibility to implement the project activities in accordance with the planning and expected results as per key activities of the project. Field Officer will execute data collection and monitoring activities in the intervention areas, following the M&E (Monitoring & Evaluation) framework, guidelines, and requirements, under the lead of the Area Coordinator. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Programme Executions 

  • Execute the project activities according to LASCARCOCO program's key activities, following the approved planned and timeline, which mainly training and data collecting at the target of intervention level at his/her designated area of intervention;
  • Supporting each partner in the annual budget planning to execute the key activities, provide technical guidance and feedback in the development of activities to ensure that the activities are in line with the project directions. 
  • Taking responsibility in the programme operations to comply to the project administrative and financial regulations;  
  • Execute the M&E activities for the Larcarcoco Programme following the M&E framework for the programme accountability


Reporting 

  • Provide regular activity information / reports to the Area Coordinator, carbon copy (cc.) to the Coffee Cacao Programme Manager and Monitoring Evaluation Coordinator;  
  • Providing reliable and accurate narrative and financial / administrative reports, and activity documentation according to Rikolto's policy and procedures, not limited to the donor regulations; 

 

Stakeholders Management 

  • Manage and maintain routine communication with farmers, farmer groups, and cooperatives that are part of Rikolto Partners. 
  • Contribute to good communication with local government / relevant authorities in the area of intervention. 

 

General 

  • Playing an exemplary role with respect to the values, and identity of Rikolto  in Indonesia; ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics in order to safeguard its organisational reputation; 
  • Closely working as a team towards shared objectives and contributing as well outside the own work field; 
  • Collaborate with another respected unit to ensure adequate support for smooth programme operations.  

 

Requirements: 

 

Education & Experience:  

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Rural development, or other relevant field;  
  • At least 1 year work experience in the similar field (i.e: rural development, sector development, agricultural development, preferable in cocoa/coffee sector) 
  • Experience in facilitating and collaborating with farmer group, community and local governmental agencies/authorities 
  • Experience and understanding related to Environmental issues especially climate change will be a plus  
     
    Technical Knowledge and Skills  
  • Concepts of climate change, environmental management (especially landscape), sustainable commodity production and management  
  • Knowledge of ecosystem management within cocoa/coffee production.  
  • Knowledge of local political and institutional framework would be an asset  
  • Proficient in communication to present something complicated in a simpler way using various infographics.    
  • Community development and training, discussion facilitation and public speaking skills  
  • Good critical and analytical thinking skills.  
  • Active communication, observation skills, well organised, familiar on report making and willingness to contribute 
  • Ability to operate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office365; 

 

Specific Requirements: 

Own personal vehicle (motorbike) and Sim C preferred. Willing to travel and to be stationed in the designated areas of the program 

 

 

Rikolto preference is to recruit resources from the local area/designated province according to the duty station mentioned above.
