Advancing digital development is one stand-alone development policy objective that the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is particularly committed to pursuing together with its international partners. On behalf of BMZ, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing the Global Programme Digital Transformation to develop innovative BMZ flagship projects on a global scale. Under the flagship "Local Innovation" digital ecosystems in partner countries are being supported.
The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Indonesia is part of this global initiative and supports Indonesia in its national digital transformation. The overall aim is to narrow the digital divide, reduce disparities and to give all population groups equal opportunities to benefit from the prospects of digitalisation while enabling them to assess its risks independently. The Digital Transformation Centre Indonesia focusses in particular on the two elements of (1) digital entrepreneurship & innovation ecosystems and (2) government advisory. It is extended by the Make-IT Indonesia initiative.
Overall, as global partners, Indonesia and Germany are determined to work together to deliver sustainable, climate-neutral and resilient development that benefits the planet as well as its people. The DTC Indonesia therefore is embedded into the wider Indonesian-German development cooperation and its priority areas of:

We are looking for an administrative specialist to join our young and vibrant team working on the implementation of the Digital Transformation Center and Make-IT Indonesia.
To support implementation of DTC, we seek one (1) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidate for:
Advisor for Innovation Ecosystem
A. Responsibilities
The key function and responsibilities of the Advisor for Innovation Ecosystem are related to nurture and expand healthy ecosystem for green entrepreneurship and innovation through Digital Transformation Center and Make-IT Indonesia project.
· Responsible to design, implement, and evaluate project activities, to build and expand ecosystem in green technology and digital economy topics, in close coordination with political partners, and relevant stakeholders.
· Responsible for the implementation of project activities in developing impactful innovation ecosystem, leveraging intersection digital and green economy, and proactively seeking solutions and improvements area to deliver quality results.
· Responsible to initiate and maintain meaningful partnerships with various private and public institutions/ organization to support the project implementation and positioning the project in green technology and digital ecosystem in Indonesia and international networks, including but not limited to start-ups, multi-national companies, governments, academicians, NGOs/ CSOs, investors, financiers, and others.
· Responsible to carry out monitoring, evaluation, and reporting measures for project activities, aligning with relevant sustainable development goals and required metrics.
B. Tasks
Project Implementation
· Expand partnerships with Indonesian and international public and private organisations to leverage outcome and impact of the project, including but not limited to start-ups, venture capital, financial institutions, start-up support organisations, local governments, and others.· Coordinate planning, execution, and evaluation of capacity development, workshops, seminars, studies, and networking activities to strengthen the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem of green technology and digital economy, with stakeholders, ranging from government, private sector, academicians, civil society, MSMEs, and start-ups.· Coordinate business matchmaking events which involves start-ups, multinational companies, local governments, and other relevant stakeholders.· Supports formulation of policy advise on digital innovation ecosystem, especially to leverage digital solutions for green technology/ climate action in Indonesia and beyond, which requires research, observation, and documentation of Indonesian and international players of both green technology and digital economy.· Advise on innovation ecosystem and technology adaptation strategy and implementation related to digital ecosystem leveraging green technology and climate actions.· Supports in developing effective learning experiences for capacity development activities in the topic of digital and green/ clean technology for early-stage companies.· Manages subcontractors, supervise events, consultancies, and conduct monitoring and evaluation programme related to digital innovation ecosystem and green technology.· Proactively advise on effective practices to implement activities with digital and non-digital startups in green technology, around but not limited to technical skills, prototype development and pilot project, act as mentor/tutor, and engage with experts and partners with relevant skillsets and experience, such as product development, design thinking approaches and other necessary tools/ approaches.· Coordinate with relevant GIZ portfolio of activities in Indonesia, especially in the sphere of digital innovation and green technology.· Facilitates administrative and logistical procedures for activities in Indonesia, in coordination with GIZ Country Office.· Monitor, evaluate and documenting implementation activities, together with the Project Manager and implementation partners.
Networking and Cooperation
· Actively engage with innovative institutions in digital innovation ecosystem and technology sector, such as research institutions, academicians, and relevant partners both international and national.· Advise on content and partnership strategy with relevant partners in digital and green technology topics.· Actively coordinate and maintain good relationship with the implementation partner.· Initiate and support forming new partnership together with the Project Manager both with national and international organisations· Coordinate with other advisors, external consultants, partners, other GIZ implemented projects and other related stakeholders for implementation of activities· Maintain and develop contacts to target communities and relevant service providers for monitoring, evaluation, and feedback mechanisms for implementation of activities.· Coordinate and cooperate closely with other GIZ projects under relevant topics with digital and green technology innovation, or within thematic cluster.· Stay abreast of ecosystem developments in Indonesia related to digital start-ups and capacity development activities for digital start-ups in Indonesia.· Stay abreast of green technology ecosystem both in global and Indonesia context, including but not limited to start-up players, enablers, financial institutions, supporting organisations, etc.
Knowledge Management
· Independently prepare and provide input for reports/documentations/publications used in the project, including progress reports, annual reports, and contribute to other knowledge products as required by the project.· Prepare and support reporting to internal organisation (GIZ), implementation partners, and other relevant partners documenting learning and achievements from the implemented activities.· Actively seek and implement innovative and effective approach to implement activities and strategizing intervention.· Independently prepare and contribute devising presentation materials such as power-point presentations, brochures and factsheets.
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
· Master's degree in engineering, management, business administration or comparable with good understanding of technical aspects of innovation management, digital ecosystem, green technology adoption and implementation· Minimum of 5-years of professional experience in comparable position, such as in the field of innovation management or function· Minimum of 3-years of work experiences in a related field of digital ecosystem and green technology or impact driven technologies· Experiences in design thinking process, especially for strategy and/or digital products and technology· Experiences in effective project management practices.· Experiences in managing implementation of digital / impact-driven ecosystem community events, meetups, training, workshops (online, offline, hybrid modes),· Experience in funding and/or financing activities for early-stage startups, (in-depth experience in impact-driven startups is a benefit)
Additional competences:
· Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia· Able to work both independently and within the team to do individual research in relevance with work.· Good interpersonal skills and willingness to cooperate effectively with colleagues and partners across projects.· Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.· Advanced working knowledge of ICT technologies (related to software and online technologies for the work environment), Excel, and other computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Teams).· International experiences are a benefit.
