FISHERIES PROGRAM PLANNING MANAGER
The Fisheries Program Planning Manager provides program management support to the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director in the overall management, operation, and coordination, ensuring smooth implementation of the fisheries components of YKAN’s program of work in Indonesia in accordance with the standards set out by the organization. S/he helps ensure a seamless program delivery, team management and development, and quality control and evaluation including providing solutions to problems that are raised. S/he supports the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director in overseeing the implementation of different programs and projects.
Duties include:
- Assist in the implementation of the Indonesia Fisheries Conservation Program (IFCP) management cycle encompassing the strategic planning, program development, operations, and learning while compiling and keeping records of the periodical performance dashboard.
- Manage internal reporting requirements.
- Work together with the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director, Regional, Global partners, Indonesia Corporate Engagement and Philanthropy teams in identifying and evaluating funding opportunities, including providing the needed information for budget details and proposals.
- Support the engagement with public donors throughout the implementation of the projects and help put together reports to donors, especially for private donors.
- Work with the Operations team and the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director to compile contracts (write TORs, monitor process), monitor contracts, track deliveries, and manage relations with contractors.
- Coordinate regular meetings with IFCP team members to monitor progress of annual work plan, expenditure, inquire potential problems and to ensure that the decisions, action points and follow-ups are carried out by the team members on a timely manner.
- Assist the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director in undertaking management responsibilities as necessary, such as distributing workshop/seminar invitations to appropriate staff, draft speeches, develop key presentation materials for meetings and conferences, research and resolve specific issues/challenges within IFCP. May represent the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director in visiting YKAN colleagues and partners and at meetings and workshops, as needed.
The Fisheries Program Planning Manager reports to the Sustainable Fisheries Program Director and is based in Bali, Indonesia.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads, and finances under deadlines.
- Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance.
- Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies
- Experience negotiating.
- Excellent reporting and editing skills (progress reports, proposals) in English and Bahasa Indonesia
