WWF-Indonesia, an independent national conservation organization, is part of a global network of WWF. WWF-ID is seeking the best candidate for the SEKA Forest Restoration Project Leader. This position will be based in Palangka Raya, Kalimantan Tengah, and report directly to the Sebangau Katingan Program Manager.
This position will help the realization of forest restoration and orangutan habitat quality improvement, WWF-Indonesia under the Forest and Wildlife Program cooperates with H&M group to carry out restoration efforts that are useful for forest enrichment and restoration, parallel with it, as an example of rattan management practices that become a source of livelihood for the community while strengthening commerce and governance at the rattan farmer level. The partnership is expected to be one of the best examples of solutions to prevent deforestation through the promotion NTFP's and forest management by the governments and communities involved while delivering recovery efforts to degraded forests.
This partnership runs in Central Kalimantan province, in a landscape Sebangau Katingan (SEKA) with a pilot area of 350 hectares for 3 years of implementation.
Project Leader Forest Restoration H&M and WWF Partnership will lead the project implementation and strategically engage with partners/project beneficiaries to support and involved at the scale of implementation and monitoring.
The position will ensure the project runs effectively as the strategic plan of WWF-Indonesia, annual work and monitoring plan, and budget allocation.
Requirements for this position are:
- University degree in Forestry, Social Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Environment Business, or another relevant subject
- Minimum 2-5 years of working experience in relevant field, with program implementation and project management experience.
- Direct hands-on experience in project management (e.g., planning, budgeting) and grant management (e.g. due diligence, financial monitoring).
- Ability to manage projects with strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills and balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
- Ability to manage professional relationships and effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Highly organized and systematic with strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines required.
- Experienced from the business aspect as well as engagement with the market and society.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Ability to write and speak in an organized, clear, and articulate manner for a wide range of audiences including local governments, local private sector and smallholders, local NGOs, local communities, donors, and partners.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
