STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) –   EDITOR   

A. Background

Panagora Group is a woman-owned small business providing novel and integrated solutions in global health and international development, implementing the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Platform (MEL-P) Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Indonesia since August 18, 2020.

MEL-P's purpose is to support the implementation of the USAID/Indonesia Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) for Fiscal Years 2021-2025 by providing technical, consulting, and advisory services related to monitoring, evaluation, and learning and other relevant short-, medium-, and long-term technical expertise. MEL-P also supports USAID initiatives, such as the Indo-Pacific Strategy and the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policy Making Act. These combined efforts will facilitate and inform program management decisions within the Mission, shape, and democracy, the long-term strategic direction of programs, and enable USAID/Indonesia to comply with Agency policy and guidance, including USAID Automated Directives System (ADS) Chapter 201.

B. Objective

USAID MEL-P seeks an experienced and qualified editor to review, format, rewrite, and edit evaluations or other reports. This is a short-term technical assistance (STTA) expert or consultant position to edit reports in the Jakarta time zone.

C. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, format, rewrite, and edit evaluation or other reports ensuring they are free of spelling, typographical, grammatical, and other errors, and adopt a natural and native English-speaking structure and phrasing.
  • Ensure the reports are understandable, easy to read and have a balanced tone.
  • Ensure the reports reflect established USAID and MEL-P style, template, format, and requirements.

 

D. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in journalism, public relations, communications, related fields, or equivalent years of experience in publishing, editing, or journalism.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a technical writer and/or editor. Previous editing or reporting work with USAID or international development organizations is desirable.
  • A broad familiarity with subject matter related to democracy and governance, health, education environment, and economic growth.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines with little oversight.
  • Fluency in written English.
  • Must be Indonesian.
