Brief project title : Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains (SASCI+) Project

The global program "Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains" is part of the special initiative "Transformation of agricultural and food systems". On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the program promotes the sustainability of selected agricultural supply chains in partner countries.
To address these challenges the program implements the project "Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains in Indonesia" (SASCI+). SASCI+ focuses on natural rubber in Kapuas Hulu, palm oil in Sanggau (both West Kalimantan), cocoa and coffee in the biosphere reserve Lore Lindu (Central Sulawesi) and coffee in Lampung province.
The project is contracting a service provider to support activities with regard to sustainable rubber in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan. Some 4,000 rubber smallholders in several sub-districts of Kapuas Hulu district are supported through a public-private partnership project between a major German tire company and GIZ. The support includes training of farmers in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), post-harvest drying of rubber latex (GHP), and regular buyouts through a warehouse of the rubber produced to the mentioned tired company, via two crumb rubber processors in Pontianak. A digital end-to-end traceability system tracks the rubber from the smallholder farms to the rubber processors, and on to the German tire company.
During the first two years of operation (April 2021 to April 2023) 4,000 farmers received training and capacity building for sustainable, traceable rubber production of natural rubber. Building on these achievements, continuous support for the previously trained farmers shall be implemented.
GIZ SASCI+ project is currently seeking a Contractor/Company to deliver services to conduct the Capacity building on sustainable rubber in Kapuas Hulu. The detail services is set forth in the attached of Term of Reference and other annexes.
