Jalin has a strong capacity in social and behavior change communication, utilizing evidence-based approaches and strategic messaging to effectively promote positive behavior change and shift social norms. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all research activities that focus on social behavior change interventions in various issues. The position shall be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Position Overview: The Research Coordinator will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and coordinating research activities for Jalin Foundation that focuses on social behavior change interventions in various issues. The coordinator will work closely with the partner research team, program team, knowledge management team, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of research projects and the collection of relevant data. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with program and knowledge management teams to define research objectives, develop plans, and determine data collection methods.
- Develop tailored research instruments (qualitative and quantitative) for donor and program needs.
- Create project timelines, coordinate with partners, and maintain project documentation.
- Oversee data collection, train and supervise staff, ensure adherence to protocols, and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with data analysts, conduct analysis, and contribute to research findings interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines, obtain necessary approvals, and maintain participant confidentiality.
- Coordinate with the knowledge management team, organize and disseminate research findings.
- Prepare progress reports, contribute to publications, and maintain data integrity.
- Engage with stakeholders, facilitate collaboration, and communicate research goals and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degrees in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, or public health).
- At least ten years of demonstrated experience in coordinating research projects, preferably related to social behavior change interventions.
- Strong knowledge of research methodologies, data collection techniques, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with ethical considerations in research involving human subjects.
- Proficient in developing research instruments (qualitative and quantitative) based on donor or program needs.
- Proficient in using research software and tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including fluency in written and spoken in both English and Indonesia), with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research findings is desirable.
