Survey services for Barriers and Enablers of Patient-Centered TB services in Indonesia's Private Sector
The U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Tuberculosis Private Sector (TBPS) Activity supports the Government of Indonesia's (GOI's) goal of tuberculosis (TB) elimination by 2030. TBPS supports a vision for fully scalable, market-based and government-supported PPM programming that accelerates private-sector diagnosis, notification, and successful treatment to reduce TB incidence and mortality. To achieve this goal, TBPS will support Indonesia's journey to self-reliance in achieving TB elimination targets by improving TB diagnosis, treatment, and case notification by private providers in six activity districts.
Since TB patients favor initial care-seeking in private health facilities, it is important to understand how to increase quality of care in the private sector and how to ensure that TB patients are appropriately cared for. Thus, USAID TBPS will conduct a study that aims to understand the barriers and enablers to improving the alignment between TB patient care seeking and TB service quality and availability that responds to patient care-seeking preferences in the private sector. The analysis will help the FHI 360-led USAID TB Private Sector (TBPS) program identify health system alignment gaps that can be addressed through targeted patient-centered care interventions. This activity will be conducted across six TBPS districts (Denpasar, Gresik, Jakarta Selatan, Jakarta Utara, Medan, and Samarinda).
To implement this activity, the awarded offeror/agency will administer and manage the study, including performing data collection, management, cleaning and preliminary analysis.
